Chapter 73 by CandidBandit CandidBandit

Where does Cinder even go at night?

Filling Cinder In

Gray strode down the street, the cool night air brushing against his face as he navigated the labyrinth of Vale. His mind was turning over various aspects of this grand scheme of his. Eventually he pulled out his scroll and composed a message to Cinder.

Cypher: Where are you now?

There was a small moment before he got a response.

Ash: I'm laying low at my hideout.

Ah, that's right. She must have a hideout if she was staying in the city. He wondered what sort of place she could get, being a dangerous person avoiding arrest and all that.

Cypher: Where is that?

Cinder's reply was immediate, likely because his Semblance was still on. He noted in hindsight that she likely would have been hesitant to disclose that knowledge otherwise.

She provided him with an address that he swiftly looked up on his scroll. The location was not far, maybe a few blocks away. It looked like it was close to some kind of shopping street from the old kingdom side of town.

Gray scanned the street for any taxis but had to go to a busier street before he could hail one down. As he flagged down a cab, he laughed to himself at deciding to get driven everywhere. The destination wasn’t all that far, but he just didn’t feel like wasting that much time. Plus, he did need to get back to the dorm at some point. Classes started back up on Monday after all.

As the taxi pulled away from the curb, Gray settled into the seat and watched the few people walking around. Restaurants and bars were still open with people enjoying good food and drink. The city lights blurred past the window, a kaleidoscope of color and motion that mirrored the tumultuous thoughts that filled his mind.

He wondered if he was ever going to get used to this stuff. There were moments when his stomach had trouble settling when he really got to thinking about it all. Small tremors of panic reared up when he let his emotions run their course. Then he would have to stamp down on them to stop himself from shaking like a scared little kid.

It helped that he had girls to cuddle with back at the dorm. He could just hug them with his Semblance active and just... let the scared feelings out without having to worry about being judged. He hadn’t quite done that yet, of course. But it was nice that he had the option.

The cab eventually pulled up to a quiet street near Old Town, the engine humming softly as it came to a stop. Gray stepped out, his gaze sweeping over the quaint shops with residences above them, a characteristic that defined the charm and history of the area. The street was quiet, the stillness quite eerie compared to the busy streets he had passed.

He made his way towards a shop that seemed out of business; the windows boarded up and a sign of closure hanging on the door. Gray pulled out his scroll and messaged Cinder, informing her of his arrival.

Cypher: I'm visiting. I'm just outside. Please let me in.

Cinder's response was prompt.

Ash: Come around to the alleyway entrance.

Intrigued, Gray scanned the area, his eyes searching for any sign of a back-alley entrance. He walked and rounded a corner and spotted the alleyway. A slim passage nestled between the rows of shops and homes. He focused his Aura on his eyes again and made his way down the path; his Aura-enhanced eyes adjusting to the dim light that cast shadows across the worn cobblestones.

As he navigated the alleyway, he spotted a door slightly ajar, the faint glow of light spilling out onto the ground. He squinted, his gaze focusing on the figure peering through the gap. That was Emerald, her eyes looking up and down the alleyway. Gray deactivated his Semblance, now standing there for her to notice him. Despite him still wearing his hood and using shadows to conceal his face.

Emerald's eyes saw Gray there and looked alarmed for a second before she recognized him. A moment later she opened the door wider, allowing him to step inside the dimly lit hideout. As Gray entered, Emerald closed the door behind him, the soft click of the latch echoing through the stillness of the room.

Inside, Gray's gaze swept over the space, taking in the details. Mercury leaned against the wall by the door; his posture relaxed yet ready. He noticed Gray's glance and shrugged, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "Can't be too careful." He said, his voice full of nonchalance.

Gray nodded in agreement. He still wasn’t sure how he felt about this cocky guy, but he understood the need for caution. "True."

Cinder emerged from the shadows of a darkened room, a part of the building that looked like it was connected to the closed-down storefront. Her eyes landed on Gray, greeting him with a nod.

"Cypher." She said, her voice a mixture of respect as well as her usual sultry seduction.

Gray turned to Cinder. She looked as sexy as he remembered her being. Her breasts weren’t all that big, but she did have this sexiness and edge of danger to her.

"Cinder, let's talk privately." He said.

Cinder hesitated for a moment, her eyes flickering to Emerald and Mercury before nodding in agreement. She led Gray upstairs, giving him the perfect view of her ass as she climbed the stairs in front of him. He openly stared, knowing that she couldn’t see his eyes and probably wouldn’t voice a complaint even if she could.

The old wooden steps creaked softly beneath their feet as they made their way to the second-floor landing. There seemed to be a lounge area here with a kitchenette and bathroom. They went up another flight of stairs to the floor with the bedrooms. This gave him another moment to enjoy her ass swaying beneath that red dress of hers.

She led him to what he assumed was the master bedroom.

The room was cast in shadows, until a flame appeared in Cinder’s outstretched hand. Gray wondered if the flame was a manifestation of Cinder's Semblance or the power she had gained from the Maiden, but he chose not to ask. Not yet.

Cinder motioned for Gray to sit in a comfortable, yet aged chair in the corner of the room. She brought over another chair, positioning it to face him as they settled in for their private discussion. The small flame cast an interesting glow over her face. He wondered if the light penetrated through the shadows covering his face.

If it did, then he chose not to care. She was his anyway, so there was no real reason to be cautious.

The shadows danced across the walls of the dimly lit room. The night was quiet, the silence outside a little unnerving. With a steady breath, Gray activated his Semblance. He felt the need to bind Cinder and her two followers closer to him. He had wondered if there was any sort of crack in his previous commands, so he took this opportunity to layer more on.

"Cinder." He began. "Not only are you and your team loyal, obedient, and devoted to me, but my goals are your goals. My cause is your cause. What I tell you to do, you do with trust and without question."

Cinder nodded.

"Continue fooling Salem into thinking that you are loyal to her." Gray instructed. "But remember, Cinder, you are always mine."

As he spoke, Gray's gaze flickered to Cinder's ear, where a black and white earring glinted in the soft light of the flame. The sight reminded him of the Semblance command he had given concerning finding Salem’s agents. He had said that Salem’s agents would start wearing something that would denote their allegiance. Making it easier for him to find them.

“Yes, Master.” Cinder said in response to his command just now.

Okay then. Now that he could be absolutely certain of her loyalty, he deactivated his Semblance.

Gray leaned back in the chair, the dim flame in Cinder’s hand casting flickering light across her sharp features. She sat opposite him, posture straight, eyes locked on his shadowed face with that familiar mix of respect and barely restrained hunger for control. He could feel it radiating off of her. The need to be the one pulling strings, even when she knew she was the one being pulled.

He took his time explaining things to her. If she was going to be an effective tool of his, then she needed to be in on most of the plan.

First, he told her of his Mountain Glenn redevelopment plan, superseding her own plans for that place. Then he told her of his connections with the Schnee's and convincing them to fund it. Then came his plan to get criminals and White Fang to provide the labor. The crime networks redirected into productive work instead of crime. The White Fang would use the city as a home and staging ground for their own organization.

He told her most of what she needed to know, as well as the plan to insert a fourth woman into her infiltration team.

Cinder listened without interrupting, flame steady in her palm. When he finished, silence hung between them for a long beat.

Then she exhaled slowly through her nose.

“You’ve been busy.” She said, voice low and edged. “While I’ve been sitting on my hands waiting for the next move in a plan you’ve apparently rewritten from the ground up.”

There was no real anger in her voice. His commands made sure of that. But the annoyance was clear. The woman who thrived on being the architect hated discovering she’d been demoted to one of the pieces on the board.

Gray tilted his head slightly, shadows shifting under the hood. “That was something I had been thinking about. You having nothing much to do while waiting for your two plans to come to fruition. I thought that would be a waste of your talents and came up with a job for you. In fact, this job will be one of the most important parts of my plan.”

Cinder looked at him sharply. Clearly her interest was piqued.

He continued.

“Salem’s other agents are still out there manipulating things behind the scenes. You’re going to find them. Quietly. Discretely. Identify them and report back to me. I’ll decide whether to silence them or turn them to our cause.”

Cinder’s lips curved, just a fraction. “You want me to hunt my... “colleagues.””

“I want you to help me unravel Salem’s network.”

The flame in her hand flared briefly, then steadied. She studied him for another long moment.

Then she inclined her head with a subtle smile. “Understood… Master.”

The title came out smooth but with a dangerous edge laced with honey. She was quite interested now.

It had also occurred to Gray that once she was posing as a student and walking the hallways of Beacon, that she would end up seeing him in person more often. So, he needed to reveal his face to her at some point. Which may as well be now.

“If it sweetens the deal for you, I’m willing to reveal my face to you.”

Cinder blinked in stunned silence. The flame in her palm flickered once, betraying the sudden hitch in her composure. Gray watched her closely, her dark eyes widening just a fraction, lips parting as if the words had caught her off guard.

He continued, voice calm and measured.

“Since, after all, once you walk the halls of Beacon next semester you will be seeing me around more. Deal?”

She stared at him for a long heartbeat. The room was quiet except for the faint crackle of her flame. Then, slowly, the stunned expression shifted. Surprise giving way to something deeper. Honor. Curiosity. A flicker of genuine intrigue.

“...Deal,” she said softly, almost reverently.

Gray gave a small nod.

He activated his Semblance for just a moment. A single, targeted command whispered under his breath.

“You will find me physically attractive. My face will appeal to you strongly.”

He deactivated.

Then he reached up, fingers curling around the edge of his hood, and slowly pulled it back.

The Aura-induced shadows dissipated like smoke in a breeze, revealing his features in the low flame-light. Sharp jawline, dark grey hair falling slightly into his grey eyes.

Cinder’s breath caught.

She stared. Openly, unashamed. Taking in every detail. Her eyes traced the line of his cheekbones, the faint stubble along his jaw. The way his mouth curved just slightly at one corner, like he knew exactly what effect he was having.

For several long seconds, she simply looked.

Then her lips parted again, softer this time.

“You’re… younger than I expected.” She murmured, almost to herself. “And… far more striking.”

Gray let the silence stretch, letting her look her fill.

When her gaze finally lifted to meet his eyes again, there was heat in it.

He smiled, just a small tilt of his mouth, and leaned forward slightly.

“Are you not going to question why you’ll be seeing me at Beacon?” He asked with a teasing grin.

She stared for a short moment before blinking. She briefly made a face of consternation as she shifted her eyes down then back up to him. She didn’t seem used to being caught off guard like this.

“Why?” She asked, almost demanded.

He smiled at her and witnessed her blush for the first time. Though it was likely out of shame for being caught on the back foot.

“I have done my own infiltration. To gain access to a team that has the Schnee Heiress. As well as to gain access to Ozpin and the possible whereabouts of his vault.” He told her. Of course, he already knew where that was. “You see, I too don’t like sitting about doing nothing. Letting others do all the work isn’t my style.”

Cinder ruminated on that for a moment.

“So, that’s how you were able to get the Schnee’s to help? Through their daughter.” She murmured, thinking it all through. “Can I assume she is on our side?”

“To be more accurate, she believes I am on her side. She has limited knowledge on my own dealings but suffice to say she is loyal to me, because I offered to back her when she takes control of the Schnee holdings.”

Cinder nods her head, filing that away.

As she thought about his words, he took the time to look her up and down. She really was quite beautiful. In a dangerous sort of way. Like a sharp blade with ornate designs. A dagger to be precise. A dagger with a sinuous curve.

He took in her own sinuous curves and wondered if he had it in him to try something sexual with her. On the one hand, he felt the ache of his previous sexual encounters that day. On the other, though, this was a great opportunity to play with this dangerous and gorgeous woman.

After a moment, he mentally shrugged. He could just flirt with her and see how things go. If he tried to fuck her and his dick revolted, then he could just smooth things over with his Semblance.

Gray stood.

He crossed the small distance between them in one step. Cinder looked up but didn’t move, didn’t flinch, just watched him approach with a little apprehension, flame flickering in her palm like a heartbeat.

He reached out and cupped her face gently, thumb brushing along her jaw. She went still, breath catching. He traced her lower lip with the pad of his thumb; she shuddered once, almost imperceptibly.

Then he leaned in and kissed her.

Soft at first. Just testing the water. She parted for him immediately, lips warm and yielding. Gray deepened it, tongue sliding against hers, one hand sliding to the back of her neck. He gently pulled on her to get her to stand. She raised herself out of her chair; lips still locked on him.

Now his other hand drifted down her side, over the curve of her hip, then lower to grip her ass through the dress. He squeezed her cheek, hard, and she moaned into his mouth, body arching toward him.

Gray tugged her back towards his chair. Then he broke the kiss long enough to murmur against her lips.

“Sit.”

She obeyed instantly, straddling his lap as he sank back into the chair. Her dress rode up her thighs; he slid both hands underneath, gripping bare skin and feeling her shorts under the dress. He pulled her flush against him. His cock stirred again despite the day’s exertions.

Gray kissed her again, harder this time, while his hands roamed. Up her back, then down to squeeze her ass again, then around to cup her breasts through the fabric. He could feel her nipples stiffen under his palms. She whimpered softly, hips rolling as she ground her groin on him.

He pulled back just enough to speak.

“Now that we’ve got that out of the way,” he said, voice low and teasing. “Let’s talk about your mission, and any questions you have for me.”

Cinder nodded in a slight daze.

“Your new mission: find Salem’s other agents. Identify them. Report on their locations, names, and movements. Quietly. No direct confrontation until I say so. And you’ll keep this to the Vale area for now.”

Cinder nodded, breathing hard. “Yes, Master.”

He kissed her throat. Open-mouthed, teeth grazing skin. “Good girl.”

She shivered again.

“Any questions?” He asked as he kissed her neck some more.

She hummed at the sensations before saying with a purr, “No, Master.”

He leaned back slightly, hands still on her hips, keeping her pinned against him.

“Okay. Now, let's talk about your infiltration team.” He said. “Ilia Amitola, the Chameleon Faunus Adam is sending. She’ll be your fourth member. She’s young, talented, and can pass for a student. You’ll integrate her into the team.”

Cinder tilted her head, curiosity flickering. “What else do we know about her?”

“She’s nineteen. Her Chameleon trait is localized to her scales which change with emotion, but she can suppress it. They look like large freckles on her face and body. She might be a little naive due to her age, but I can deal with that.”

He left out any connection to Blake. Cinder didn’t really need to know about that.

She nodded slowly, processing. “Understood.”

Gray’s hands slid up her sides, thumbs brushing the undersides of her breasts. “Any questions?”

She shook her head, then paused.

“Only one.” Her voice dropped lower, huskier. “Are you planning to fuck me tonight… or is this just a tease?”

Gray chuckled softly, one hand sliding up to hold the back of her neck, pulling her down for another slow, deep kiss. When he broke it, he murmured against her lips.

“I’m thinking about it.”

He was tired if he was being honest with himself. But despite that, his dick was pushing up against his pants insistently. He’d already come three times today. A fourth might be pushing his limits. But the thought of burying himself inside her, of claiming this woman, was tempting.

Very tempting.

He met her gaze and let the silence stretch.

Then a thought occurred to him.

He brushed a thumb along her jaw, voice low.

“Cinder… have you been using the Aura contraception method?”

She tilted her head, a faint smirk playing at her lips. “Yes. I’ve used it for years.”

Gray nodded, unsurprised.

“Good.” He said, letting the meaning hang in the air.

Cinder’s smirk softened into something almost amused. “Worried I might be carrying someone else’s child, Master?”

He chuckled, sliding one hand down to her ass again.

“I just wanted to be thorough. And I don’t like surprises.”

She leaned in to look him in the eyes deeply. “I don’t sleep around. You’re the first in… a long time.”

Gray smiled and pulled her down for another kiss. This one was slow and deep. Tongues sliding, lips parting, her quiet sigh vibrating against his mouth. He let it linger, savoring her taste.

When they broke apart, he murmured against her lips. “Does Emerald use it too?”

Cinder shook her head once. “I don’t know. I haven’t asked her about that kind of thing.”

Gray’s thumb traced her lower lip. “Check with her next time you’re alone. Privately. Let me know.”

“Yes, Master.”

He studied her for another heartbeat. Flushed cheeks, half-lidded eyes; body still pressed against his. The day had already wrung him out, but the sight of her like this, obedient and hungry, tipped the scale.

He gave in.

“Get up.” He said, voice rougher with need. “Hands on the edge of the bed. Stick that ass out for me.”

Cinder’s eyes darkened with heat. A slow, wicked grin spread across her face.

She rose from his lap with deliberate grace, then strutted over to the bed, hips swaying, the red dress clinging to every curve. The fire in her hand was extinguished, leaving only light from the window and a lonely lamppost out on the street. She bent at the waist, palms flat on the mattress edge, legs straight and parted just enough to make the dress ride up. The black lace-up shorts underneath peeked out, framing the perfect heart shape of her ass.

Gray stood behind her, taking his time.

He ran both hands over her cheeks, squeezing and groping her meat. Then he slid his hands down her thighs before bringing his hands back up, thumbs brushing the crease where leg met ass. He pressed one palm flat against her crotch, rubbing slow circles over the black material. She was soaked; he could feel the heat radiating through the material.

Cinder sighed, hips rocking back into his touch.

Gray peeled the shorts down slowly, baring her ass inch by inch. Black lace panties followed, dragged to her knees. Her pussy glistened in the low light, dripping down her thigh.

He played with her, his fingers sliding along her folds, circling her clit, dipping inside just enough to tease. She moaned low. A seductive sound that made his dick throb.

Gray undid his pants for the fourth time today, freeing himself for another round.

He rubbed the head along her slit, coating himself in her wetness, then pressed forward.

One slow, steady thrust, and he sank into her to the hilt.

Cinder’s back arched. A long, throaty moan spilled from her lips.

Gray gripped her hips and started to move. He was slow at first, savoring the tight heat wrapped around him. Then he went faster and deeper. Punishing strokes that made her gasp every time he bottomed out. He slowed again. Teasing, grinding, drawing out every sensation.

She looked back over her shoulder with a glower. She probably thought he was being cruel on purpose.

He was just making sure he stayed hard without popping too early.

But the rhythm steadied. He found his stride and realized he was able to stay hard despite his previous activities today. Plus, the desire to cum was muted. Three times he had emptied himself, so he had quite a while before the need came back.

He grinned as he looked down at her body. He noticed the symbol on her back, the one she got when she had attacked Amber to gain her Maiden powers. He placed a hand on it and pushed her body down on the bed. She moaned as her face was smooshed against the covers.

Then a devious idea hit him.

He activated his Semblance, just long enough to whisper, “Come for me.”

He deactivated.

Cinder’s body locked up instantly, the walls inside her pussy clamping down hard around him. A sharp, choked cry tore from her throat. Her knees buckled and Gray held her steady, fucking her through the sudden, overwhelming orgasm.

She trembled. Her moans turning ragged and ****.

He didn’t let up.

Another quick activation.

“Come again.”

Deactivated.

She shattered a second time. Harder and louder. Her nails were digging into the mattress, as her back bowed.

Gray’s control frayed.

He pressed down on her harder and fucked her with everything he had. Deep, brutal thrusts that made her whole body jolt forward. Her moans were music to his ears. Raw, needy, and seductive.

He felt the pressure build as her walls milked him. He raced to try and make it happen faster, fucking her into the bed with everything he had. The smack, smack noises echoing around the room.

He used one last Semblance activation.

“You will come with me.”

Deactivated.

Gray buried himself deep, hips jerking as he unloaded inside her, thick ropes filling her until it leaked out around his cock.

Cinder came undone, screaming his codename into the mattress, pussy spasming violently around him.

He held her there; hips flush against her butt cheeks, until the last pulse faded.

They stayed locked together for a long moment. Both breathing hard; skin slick with sweat.

Gray finally pulled out slowly, watching his cum drip down her thighs.

Cinder stayed bent over the bed, legs trembling, ass still presented, dress rucked up around her waist. Her body lower down with jerking movements until her waist was on the bed too.

Gray leaned down to rub the tip of his dick on her red dress, making sure his leftover cum soaked a small patch of fabric.

He watched her for another heartbeat. Flushed, wrecked, and beautiful. Then spoke quietly.

“Get dressed, then turn around and clean my dick.”

She straightened slowly, legs shaky, and began fixing her clothes with trembling fingers.

She pulled her panties and shorts up and turned around to face his softening dick. Her eyes took it in for a moment before taking it into her mouth to clean. She looked up at him with dusky eyes as she licked and sucked every bit of her juices off of him. Then she was done and he pulled away to put himself away.

He looked down at the woman. A woman who was dangerous and deadly before he met her. A woman who could have killed him without a second thought if she thought he was a threat. Or a nuisance.

But now here she was. On her knees before him.

The moment gave Gray an unhealthy amount of a power trip. He felt the rush of it and tried to hold it off, but the look in her eyes stroked his ego in ways he couldn’t explain.

He needed to end this meeting here and hurry back home. If only to try and shake off this dangerous feeling.

Gray stepped back into the narrow alleyway behind the abandoned storefront; the door clicking shut behind him with a soft finality. The cool night air brushed against his warm face, sharp and clean after the stuffy warmth of Cinder’s room. He pulled his hood a little lower, shadows clinging to his features, and started walking toward Old Town Square.

The streets were quiet now; the evening crowd thinned to a few stragglers heading home or toward late-night bars. Neon signs flickered above shuttered shops; distant laughter spilled from an open window somewhere above. Gray kept his pace steady, mind turning over the night’s events.

He made some pretty big plays tonight. Commanding the White Fang leader to drop what she was doing in Menagerie and come to Vale, getting Junior and Torchwick to plan for their end of the Mountain Glenn plan, and then sicking Cinder on Salem’s agents around Vale.

Gray wondered what would be next for him to do this coming week. He would need to check in with the Schnee’s to see what progress has been made on their end. He might even need to get close to the city council to make sure they do what he wants too. He would need updates from Junior and Torchwick about their meetings with other criminal families and those weapons dealers. Cinder might learn something about Salem’s agents as well, so he needed to be ready for that.

What else?

He’d have to wait for Sienna Khan and Blake’s mother to arrive and then see what accommodations were available for them. Likely, Adam will have a safehouse ready to house them. Other than that, he might also need to set aside a time to contact Yang’s mother and get her side of things.

Then there was the Moonfall event. He needed an update on its trajectory from Schnee.

After that, there was little to do other than focus on schoolwork. Hopefully nothing would blindside him this week.

He pulled out his scroll and composed a quick message to Junior.

Cypher: I need the airship tonight.

The reply came back after a couple minutes.

Junior: It’s ready and waiting.

Gray pocketed the scroll and kept walking.

Getting an airship of his own would be smarter. Something small. Four to eight passengers. Enough for him and the girls on a whim. That way he wouldn’t have to rely on schedules or favors. He’d have to learn to fly it, but that was just another skill to pick up. Junior’s criminal network could likely source one discreetly.

He sent a follow-up message after activating his Semblance for an added layer of obedience.

Cypher: Look into acquiring a personal airship for me. Small, four to eight seats, fast and discreet. Price isn’t an issue. Let me know options.

Junior: On it. I’ll have details in a day or two.

That was enough for now.

Gray caught a cab back to Junior’s club. He got out and went round to the garage where he housed some vehicles, including the airship Gray had flown in last time. A driver was waiting for him and he got on board.

The ride back to Beacon was smooth and quiet. Gray stared out at the city lights streaking past. Exhaustion was settling deep into his bones. The day had been long with shopping, teasing, multiple orgasms, and criminal meetings. His body felt heavy, but his mind wouldn’t quite shut off.

The airship terminal on Beacon’s cliff came into view sooner than expected. The driver eased to a stop at the edge of the causeway. Gray stepped out, nodded once, and started the walk up toward the dorms.

The night was still. He didn’t see any cat-eared shadow slipping across rooftops tonight. Just the quiet of a sleeping campus and the sounds of his shoes on brick and concrete. There was also the slight hum of the occasional lamppost along the campus pathways.

He reached the main building, slipped inside, and headed for the locker room. The space was dark and empty at this hour with rows of silent lockers. Gray stowed his weapons and equipment in his assigned locker, then locked it with a quiet click.

Outside Team RWBY’s dorm door, he paused. The hallway was silent. He activated his Semblance and headed inside.

The room was dark, lit only by the faint glow of scroll screens on nightstands. Soft snoring came from one bunk. Probably Ruby. He saw Yang’s arm flung over the edge of her mattress. Blake curled on her side, her black bow still on. He almost imagined he saw it twitch once in the murky darkness. Weiss slept neatly, covers pulled to her chin.

He saw evidence of their shopping trip in the bags set to one corner of the room.

Gray had a quick shower to clean off all the grime of the day. He then stood in the middle of the room in only his underwear and tried to decide where he’ll sleep tonight. He could sleep in his own bed by himself of course. He was feeling pretty tired and unlikely to get horny again. But cuddling with someone seemed like a nice idea.

He looked from bed to bed weighing his options, before landing on Ruby. He kind of wanted to hold that cute little sister tonight. So, he climbed the ladder to her top bunk. The mattress dipped under his weight as he maneuvered around her sleeping form. He carefully pulled the blanket up and settled behind her, spooning her body and pulling the cover over them. He exhaled long and slow and let exhaustion take over, deactivating his Semblance.

Sleep hit him before he knew it.
