Fight him

The echoing thud of my opponent falling to the ground fills the room. "Very good work, Karoline!", my sensei commented. He was a short man of Asian origin, old but incredibly quick despite his age. I offer my hand to my opponent; a big black woman who just recently joined our class. "You keep improving! Very well!", he says, satisfied. "Sensei...may I have a word?", I ask, getting closer to him. The man seems a bit puzzled, "Yes, sure Karoline...what is it about?". "I am really enjoying Vovinam and the vietnamese martial arts...", "Yes and you're good at it!", "Thank you master. But for the first time I might need to use our art outside our gym. The fact is that there is a guy who's dating my daughter. This young man is quite arrogant and a bit misogynist. He's been nice so far and I've no reason to doubt his good intentions. However, I would like to get ready for the worst....if you know what I mean...". He looks even more perplexed now. "Can't you speak to your husband to keep the guy under watch?", the man demands. I do my best not to laugh. "Well, the fact is...my husband is always away traveling or working, and I'm spending a lot of time alone with my daughter and this youngster. He mulls over it a bit and then touches me paternally, "How tall and trained is he?". "He's probably around 73," and he's definitely athletic. He's into martial arts too and does MMA....do you know this discipline?". He sights. ""Karol...you're my best female student, but there's a reason why men and women don't train together in my class.
