Chapter 9 by Suckersoprano Suckersoprano

Fight back or accept fate?

Fight back.

Dago lashed out and kicked Leviathan in the face. He then scrambled to his feet and tried to run out of the room. Lotan was shifting into his Sea Serpent form and immediately pursued Dago with a lot more speed than he expected. Considering there was a watery theme about this place, Dago did all he could to avoid getting knocked into the water. He didn’t know if snakes could swim, but sea serpents could and he’d be snake food if he was trying to swim. He ran up the stairs that he’d been trying to avoid the first time and dived into the first room he found.

It was a long hallway, full of portraits. He didn’t take any time to look at any of them, but he got the sense that they weren’t important people and that Leviathan was one grade-A creeper. The hall was long and the portraits were well maintained, they looked like average people, no one important. Dago skidded to a halt when he saw Dimitri Archer’s portrait. It looked exactly like the man, cold and aloof, it looked like him just as he died. This must be the hall of victims, Dago realized.

He heard a noise behind him and immediately broke into a sprint. He had to skid to a halt once more because the hallway ended. There wasn’t a door, there wasn’t an exit. Dago swore and immediately began searching through the potted plants and behind portraits to see if he could find an exit. There was nothing, but he did notice a patch of the carpet was pulled up a little bit.

He pulled up the rest of the carpet and saw there was a hatch underneath of it. He pulled open the door and jumped inside without a second thought. His feet touched the bottom and he looked around. He appeared to be in a painting studio. There was a stool an easel to one side, along with a table with assorted oil paints. The other side of the room had various BDSM furniture pieces. There was a bench, a stand up jail cell, a dog’s cage, and a St. Andrew's cross.

He got the sense that he really shouldn’t be in here, but there weren’t any exits here, either. He felt that this might be underground, too, which made him feel uneasy. He suddenly heard noises above him and the hatch was being opened. He swore and looked around for somewhere to hide, but there wasn’t anywhere. There were strange pieces of furniture and a table, nothing else.

Dago turned around and ran straight into Leviathan, who he couldn’t remember hearing come in. His eyes were wide as he tried to back away, but Leviathan grabbed his shirt and pulled him closer.

“You aren’t getting away this time, you’re permanently mine,” Leviathan spat, “You’re going to have a lot to pay for and I’m going to take my sweet time making your repay for those souls.”

Leviathan forcibly turned Dago around and pointed out two of his pieces of furniture, “You’re going to be added to the hallway upstairs, pick your position for your portrait.”

Which does he pick?
