Fiery Flirtation

Karlach led the way through camp, eager and radiant, her hand tight and hot around mine as we cut through the cool morning air. We reached the cauldron, tucked into a secluded nook of the camp. The dark iron vessel rested among moss and wildflowers, its water smooth as glass and reflecting the pale morning light. Karlach met my eyes with a wicked smile, then, without a word, she started unbuckling her armor with teasing slowness, watching me over her shoulder as each piece hit the grass. Every motion was deliberate, a show meant for me. The corruption had only enhanced her—curves more pronounced, muscles smoothed sleek, generous breasts that demanded attention.

“Enjoying the view, soldier?” she asked, her grin sly.

“Hard not to,” I said, giving in to her teasing.

She laughed softly. “Then this part’s for you.” Her hands slid down. from her chest to her stomach, tracing the faint glow beneath her skin. For a moment, I almost forgot the day’s obligations.

“That's for later,” I shaked my head, forcing myself to move. “We can't waste too much time.”

Karlach’s eyes glinted. “You sure? I could make time worth wasting.”

Before she could finish, I reached out and caught both of her nipples between my gloved fingers. She gasped, startled, right before I sent two pulses of Eldritch energy through my hands. The power sparked down her body, making her shudder and laugh breathlessly as her skin lit with flickering orange light. My gloves smoked faintly, the fingertips scorched from her heat.

[Karlach Corruption +1]

“Hot damn—!” she breathed before I gave her a gentle shove. With a splash, she fell back into the cauldron, water hissing against her heat.

When she resurfaced, wet hair plastered to her face, she was laughing so hard it echoed through the Grove. “You absolute bastard!” she said between breaths. “I wasn’t ready for that!”

“Neither was I for your teasing, you silly harlot,” I laughed, crouching at the edge.

Karlach flicked her tail, playfully splashing me with a handful of water that steamed as it hit my boots. “You’re gonna pay for that one, soldier,” she teased, her voice low and playful as she sank deeper into the cauldron’s warmth.

I laughed, shaking my head. “You go ahead and plot your ****. I’ll sit right here and enjoy the sauna.”

I leaned an elbow on the rim of the cauldron, unbothered by the growing heat as the air shimmered between us. The warmth soaked into my clothes and skin, heavy but pleasant. Karlach closed her eyes and leaned back, letting the heat rise around her as I watched.

“So…” Karlach said eventually, tracing a finger through the water. “Why are the girls so weird this morning?”

I grinned. “Jealousy. They needed a lesson in sharing.”

Her brows shot up. “Sharing what, exactly?”

“Everything,” I said with mock solemnity.

Karlach **** a laugh. “Yeah yeah, save a piece for me, and all that.”

She leaned back again, arms resting on the cauldron’s rim, eyes half-lidded in lazy amusement. “So what happens now?”

“With what?”

Today. With Kagha. You sure you’ll be alright, Tav? I really don’t like her.”

“Honestly, I think most of the Grove doesn’t. Must be lonely, being seen as a monster by everyone around you.”

Karlach’s smile dimmed. For a long moment, she just stared into the rising steam. “…Yeah,” she said softly. “Probably is. Still doesn’t mean she has to be such a fucking bitch.”

“She’s in over her head,” I said. “Goblins at the gate, strangers in her midst, druids questioning her authority, and no one to ask for guidance. She’s like a cornered animal. ****”

Karlach was quiet again, watching ripples dance across the water. Her tail flicked idly beneath the surface.

“You don’t have to be friends,” I said gently. “Just try to bear with her until we’re done here.”

Karlach looked up, the humor gone from her face. “I don’t know how I could—she tried to sacrifice those poor tieflings just to buy herself time.”

“If Shadowheart and Lae’zel can get along, anyone can.”

She groaned, throwing her head back. “Argh. How do you do that? Making sense when I least want you to.”

I folded my arms with a chuckle. “That’s just how I roll.”

“Fine,” she said with mock exasperation. “I’ll keep an open mind, alright? I can promise that much.”

“That’s my girl.”

She froze for a beat, eyes widening slightly. “Say that again.”

[Karlach Corruption +1]

I smirked. “That’s my girl.”

“Mmm…” She bit her lip, a pleased sound slipping out. “Again.”

[Karlach Corruption +1]

I leaned closer, lowering my voice. “That's my Good girl.”

[Karlach Corruption +1]

Her breath caught, the water around her beginning to bubble as her heat spiked. “Yes…” she moaned softly, closing her eyes. “I’ll be good for you—and I won’t strangle Kagha. But keep calling me that… when no one’s looking.”

“I thought you liked an audience.”

Karlach opened one eye, smirking. “Some things are just for you, soldier~.” She sank lower into the cauldron, steam rising thick around her as her hands disappeared beneath the surface. “Now go join the others. I need a minute to ride this one out.”

The cauldron hissed louder, the air thick with heat and laughter. I stood, grinning, and grabbed my shirt. “Try not to burn down the Grove while I’m gone.”

“No promises!” she called after me, her voice half-laugh, half-moan, lost in the hiss of steam.

I walked back toward camp with a spring in my step and a very real strain in my pants. If the morning was any indication, the day ahead was going to be interesting.
