Festival

The celebration of gods had begun to arrive to the giant courtyard, there was a giant canopy with a giant table covered in roasted animals, fruit and spices and massive vases of wines from all over the realms, it was luxurious decorated with colour's and plants and had bands of the dead play music as Charon standing there called out, "Hades and Persephone!" the other gods nodded greeting them with joy and praise for the celebrations that they had put on, "Aphrodite and Ares!" the crowd looked hostilely at them before turning their attention to the next couple, "Hermes and Cersei Lannister" "Her?" Persephone queried and nodding Hermes spoke, "She is my fiance as these humans call it!" "You are getting married?" she exclaimed and nodding Hermes spoke, "She helped me see things differently and for that I cherish her!" Persephone nodded and feeling an hard slap Cersei snapped, "That is for tormenting Hermes by playing with his emotions!" she nodded before saying, "Yeah I had that coming! just don't make an habit of it!" Cersei nodded before they heard the next couple and to all but two people's shock and concern, "James of Elysium and Athena!" they all looked over and seeing Athena happily hold his hand him in his most tidiest Chiton and a pair of sandals and Athena in her best looking dress finished off with a belt and to show of her curves, sandals that went up to her shin, a type of diadem and flowers in her hair, "You two?" Athena nodded before grabbing two goblets of wine spoke, "Yes he is my date for this engagement as stated on the invitation..."All Gods must have a partner!" they all agreed as they saw her uneasily grip his hand tighter but squeezing it back she felt the confidence return as they sat down for the feast to begin.

Hours passed and drinking and feasting was the order of the day, the gods drank and spoke to each other meanwhile Athena clung to my hand giggling nervously when I kissed her cheek and now as the poets and bards started to perform we lounged on the pillow area listening to the music, “I wish we could do this more often!” Athena muttered not trying to distract the performers and nodding I commented, “Who says it has to stop? We could still see each other you know I will only be here or the Duat...” “It’s just I don’t want you to get hurt!” “Don’t worry about me I will be alright!” “I just know what Zeus and the others will say!” “Don’t worry about them!” I saw Zeus finish his next drink and walking up to Persephone’s temple before kissing in front of the other gods I spoke, “I will be back in a few minutes I just need to talk to someone briefly!” and getting her a refill I causally walked up the stairs.

“Zeus!” I barked walking in the temple before closing the door, “What do you want?” “I wanted to talk to you about Athena!” “What about it? You are together for tonight then go your separate ways as does most couples!” “I am in love with her...” “Your What? What don’t you understand about her being a virgin goddess!” “I love her and times change, someone else could take her place!” “No! She remains and now leave me before you get on my bad side!” “No you listen. I maybe not a 100% blood god but I still deserve to be with the woman I love. What if someone stopped you and Hera? Or you and Demeter? You and Eris? You and your 100’s of other siblings!” “You are really starting to piss me off!” “Why? Because you know that loving me means you can’t touch or go near her! A conquest you would have failed!” he threw me back against the floor and hitting the wall I spat, “Death and Wisdom, a wise death it goes together!” “No, she remains the way she is and not you or anyone changes it, go and love a human like your useless father!” and throwing me out down the steps I made a thud as my head it the concrete floor.

“James!” Athena cried rushing to my side and groaning I held her arm before snapping, “I won’t stop Zeus, I love her always will and one day the others will have enough of you and will overthrow your arrogant and selfish ass!” “Zeus let him go!” “No, he wants you? First of all he will have to find a way back to you and you! You will be coming back with us and staying put no more exploring...return to your temple where you belong!” “You can’t control her forever Zeus!” “You should have stuck like your father to humans boy!” he saw Hades march forward and growling spat, “You know the agreement now back off!” and lifting me up growled, “This is the last time you will ever see Athena!” “I will keep coming back, until you give in!” I snapped and laughing he spoke, “You are just an insignificant bug and if she cared about you at all she would stop this!” Athena rushed to my side before grabbing my hand spoke, “Stop James, this is why I didn’t turn up last night” “I love you Athena!” “I do to and that’s why I don’t want you to get hurt!” and kissing her the Gods started to protest, “Zeus leave them alone!” Athena spoke, “It’s over James, forget this!” “Zeus let him go!” Ares snapped “NO!”
