Neither Alice nor Kazuya were superstitious. They avoided those wannabe shamans with their strange "fertility-inducing herbs" and their "ovulation-enhancing spells". Alice knew that this was just a hoax and had no effect beyond the placebo effect. What really got a woman pregnant was sex. Unprotected and preferably as much of it as possible. She had been off the pill for a long time. The only thing missing was sex. But she hardly ever had it with her husband. But she hardly ever had any with her husband. And yet they were both now on their way to this so-called "fertility spring" that her work colleague had raved about at work.

Her friend, who was also a teacher at the same school, told Alice about it when she brought her newborn baby to school to show everyone. She proudly presented her blonde baby after she and her husband had had no luck for a long time. "Believe me, this one spring does wonders!" she said to Alice, grinning broadly at her. Alice was a little confused at the time because her friend and her husband actually both had dark hair, but maybe that was a side effect of the Spring? Either way, Alice spoke to her husband about it that same day and persuaded him to spend a night there. He didn't really want to but then agreed on the condition that he could take his laptop with him and continue his work there.

The drive into the mountains took them around three hours. Mount Fuji could be seen from afar, with its snow-white peak towering over everything else.

From the outside, the spring didn't look too special either. The sign just said "Fuji - hot spring". Nothing about "fertility spring", "baby boom spring" or "procreation spring" or anything like that. If Alice hadn't selected the "Help conceive a child" option on the website when signing up, she would never have realized that this spring was different from the others. But the address was also correct.

The resort was far away from the nearest town. There was only a small village with a supermarket five miles away. Otherwise just mountains and forest.

Kazuya took a suitcase and his briefcase out of the car. He had firmly resolved to work for the evening, much to the displeasure of Alice, who had planned to have has much baby-making sex as possible. But how was that supposed to work if her husband wasn't fucking her?

They went to reception, which didn't look very special either. Just like any other hotel, really. An older gentleman was standing there reading a magazine. When he saw Alice and her husband, he gently put it to the side, adjusted his glasses, and greeted them warmly.

"Welcome to Fuji hot spring, your wellness paradise".

Alice placed her printed online booking in front of the man, who took it and typed it into a computer.

"Two adults, one night, and... separate beds, is that right?"

"Yes. I need my sleep." Kazuya said grimly.

"Oh, and I see you've chosen our special fertility offer!" the man's eyes lit up.

He handed them each a key card for the room and a small brochure. "Dinner and breakfast will be delivered to your room, the times are on the brochure. The onsen opens after dinner, just get in touch with me here."

Alice and Kazuya immediately set about moving into their room. It was comfortably furnished. A sofa, television, table and chairs. In fact, everything they needed. In true Japanese style, there were two futon beds in the bedroom. So you slept directly on a kind of mattress on the floor. They themselves slept in beds at home, but here in the more rural areas, people lived more traditionally.

Alice disappeared into the bathroom. She had already planned the evening's schedule in detail and now wanted to put it into practice. She undressed in the bathroom and surprised her husband, who had already sat down at the table and opened his laptop, with her naked body.

"You want to follow me into the shower darling?" Alice asked her husband with a seductive undertone.
