What's next?

Felicity 3: The Hide-out

The panic room wasn't built for luxuries. It was a place to shelter in case something like this happened - a narrow stairway led down to another heavy door, which opened up onto a bunker not much larger than their bedroom. There was a thin mattress on the floor, and a table with a phone set into it, next to an unlit bulb.

That was about it. The only other thing of note was a panel in the wall, as the emergency escape; if she opened it up, it led out onto a tunnel that would come out in some secluded area some distance away. The exit was both hidden, and totally secret, so that not even any of their friends that could find the house could find that get-away.

Tired already, Felicity sat down on the mattress. She groaned. It was thinner than she'd like, the angle especially awkward: she soon stood up, and sat on the table instead, glad of the extra height. It creaked a little under her, and the wood was cold against her ass, the flat, sturdy surface digging uncomfortably into her thighs.

Still, it was her only option. Felicity looked up nervously, wondering what was going on out there. Assassins were attacking and all she could do was hide out, and she didn't even have any clothes on.

"He'll be fine, Mia," Felicity said.

She was looking down, talking to her bump more to comfort herself than anything else, supporting it with both hands again. It was instinct these days, more comfortable for her - covering up felt less urgent while she was alone, and her boobs were already tender from how she'd grabbed at them before.

"Yup, totally fine," Felicity said to herself. "We'll get out of this, and this time tomorrow we'll be fixing the door and eating snacks."

A while passed. When the phone rang, Felicity jumped. She answered it quickly, ignoring the thumping coming from upstairs.

"Felicity?" Oliver said.

She closed her eyes in relief.

"You're okay," she said. "What happened?"

"Still trying to work that out," Oliver said. "You got into the panic room okay?"

"I'm here," Felicity said. "Where are you?"

"There are too many of them," Oliver said. "Made it to our meeting point, but I think I'm being tracked. Moving on soon, just wanted to check in."

Well, at least he was alive. She worried about him every time something like this happened.

The meeting point was another in-case-of-emergencies plan. The phone in this room connected only to a landline there, and if they were separated they could meet up there, following natural landmarks in the forest.

"Did you send out a distress call?" Oliver said.

"No answer yet," Felicity said, looking at the unlit bulb.

"Was afraid of that. I think they're jamming us," Oliver said. "I'll head into town and try to send an SOS. You should do the same. The cabin's taken, they might be able to break into the foothold."

He was all business. She knew that was how he showed he cared, but still - Felicity gulped, looking toward the escape panel.

"Oliver," she said. "You know I'm still very naked here, right?"

"You are?" Oliver said.

"I did say we should've had costumes in the panic room," Felicity said. "If we were trapped down here for a few days, I'm sure we'd have gotten some use out of at least me dressing as the Black Canary, and I'm not just saying that because I totally tried that one on when you left me alone in the bunker some times, but I know you'd be into-"

"Felicity," Oliver said. "Babbling."

"Oh. Right," Felicity said.

Her face went red. She took a deep breath.

"There's nothing in there you can use?" Oliver said.

"I'm good, but I'm not 'turn a table and an old mattress into a functioning dress' good," Felicity said. "And I doubt the escape tunnel has a wardrobe. Not huge on wandering around the woods or trying to get to town and escaping assassins in my birthday suit."

"Felicity," Oliver said warningly.

Overhead, there was a thump against the outer safety door. Felicity winced.

"Sounds like even less reason you want to be there if they break in," Oliver pointed out.

"Okay. True," Felicity said.

There was a rustle from the other side.

"Okay, gotta go," Oliver said. "I love you. Good luck."

"Love you too," Felicity said. The line cut off.

Quietly she put the phone down, and slipped off of the table. Okay, former League of Assassins remnants seeking **** on Oliver, hiding to regroup from their superior numbers, and making a getaway through their hidden tunnel.

It was all so simple put like that. Still, Felicity's face was bright red as she opened up the pannel to reveal the crawlspace beyond.

"There were a lot of stories about our lives I was thinking of telling you," Felicity said to Mia, grimacing. "I think I'll leave this one out."

The gap was tight enough that she felt the walls brush against her sides, her back, clamminess pressing against so much exposed skin. Biting her lip, Felicity did her best to keep going until she found the outside.

What awaits her out of the tunnel?
