Fashionably Late

We both took a deep breath as we opened the door.

We weren't the pair that most people would expect to show up late together.

Everyone looked back at us, including one Hermione Granger. Her disappointment told me all I needed to know. Everyone's gaze made me know they knew what had happened.

Badges hung upon most everyone's neck, with the words Support Cedric Diggory

and Potter Stinks on them.

But as the student crossed her arms, my attention went elsewhere.

Aurora looked angry. In a terrifying, but somehow really sexy way. Her anger seemed to be completely directed at Parvati.

Aurora's eyes looked Parvati up and down. She didn't look impressed.

"I take truancy very seriously Padma," said Aurora. Padma? Was she just mixing up the sisters, or did she have knowledge about Padma and I's relationship?

"Parvati," Parvati spit out. Padma looked at us both, with a knowing smirk. That was at least good.

"No matter," said Aurora, "this isn't your first time being late Ms. Patil." There was so much tension in this room. Why was it all directed at Parvati?

It was probably my turn to speak.
