Fall’s end

Boomer continued to run forward, stopping only allowing me to catch up before running off again, he seemed to be taking me further and further in the county, not where I wanted to be however he would let me know if anyone was coming and by now I had took one of the bearded one's jackets, the long jacket helped cover my uniform and taking an hat from an abandoned shop looked morel like my pal Aiden Pearce, oh how I wished he was here, he would know what to do right now; instead I was following and old dog through the woods. I crouched down as we came up to a village, looked abandoned but it was soon clear it wasn't. Instead out came more Peggie's looking around the area and escorting an man out of the church, a pastor by the look of it and resisting he was hit in the back by a rifle. Boomer whined and nodding I crept forward behind the first guard and stabbing him climbed on the back of the truck and lining up the machine gun started to fire. In the panic the Pastor rolled over behind the broken wall as I continued to fire at the trucks, vans and men all trying to take cover, trucks exploded and men hit the ground until it was motionless climbing out limped over to the wreck loading my shotgun to make sure nothing jumped out and checking each person jumped when I saw the Pastor jump out, "Thank you my son!" I leaned against the wall for support as he said, "My name is Pastor Jerome. You must be part of the disaster at Joseph's compound and why everything has gone off. Radio outside of the county is gone, telephone lines and WIFI gone!" I fell against the wall before he offering himself for support helped me to the bar, "Marshal's fault. We told him to leave it to the national guard but he refused to! Should have just took Faith!" he opened my shirt and looking at the wounds said, "Tried to take Faith as well?" I nodded before being told to lay down on the table felt a knife start to pull out splinters of metal, glass and wood, "I know her. Rachel Jessop was neglected by her church and community, I was one of those from the outside but we would play but it all changed when her mother said no more and eventually she just disappeared!"

There was an awkward silence apart for the tapping of pieces of glass and metal in a bowl before Jerome thinking he should tell me said, "She isn't the girl you once know!" I nodded before groaning felt a large sharp piece get removed from my side which actually made it easier to breathe and move before saying, "She told me. She also said it isn't the complete story, I know if she's lying she trust me, she does this weird had gesture and tends to either look up or look down!" Jerome stuck some bandage around my waist said, "Whatever you think you know it isn't true!" I turned over as he started to look at my back causing me to respond, "I know what I know. She told me she was disillusioned and that she was a prawn in Joseph's plans she also attached evidence that he was emotionally blackmailing her. What I saw was pure relief when I went to arrest her, so I rather see for myself before judging!" the bar tender started to tell me more stories about her and the family and sitting up felt Jerome clean my wounds on my arms as I said, "I'll tell you what! I am looking for my friends. I get the idea they want me to come to them, so I will help liberate the area's and get those Seed's if you help me find my friends. John, Jacob, Joseph all of them, I will destroy this supposed 'Bliss plant' and any means of manufacturing them and if Faith's body can't be found or she just happens to disappear and I do the same time then who cares?" Jerome nodded before passing me a drink said, "I'll tell you what! if you do all that and want to deal with Faith, you can but you both will never come back and if we find out she was behind all of this we can't stop people from taking shots at her!" I nodded and looking over the counter saw a series of shirts and trousers and looking through them said, "I need to get out of clothes. What this?" and seeing a box opened it to see a gauntlet of the time, it looked like it went on this wrist and I could make out something shine in it. I studied it whilst getting change and sliding it on my wrist didn't seen anything unusual, it wasn't then when I moved my wrist around to get used to it when out came the blade, it was a sharpened knife that must have worked by spring, when I straightened my hand out flat it went in but if I flicked my wrist it shot out, "Handy!" I muttered and walking back out in a shirt with a eagle on, wore black trousers and holding a black bandana which was around my neck said, "Don't look like me anymore?" Jerome nodded and analysing my wrist I said, "Found it in a box, must have been left behind!" I flicked my wrist and seeing the blade come out heard him say, "Must have been left behind by those two who stayed her a few months back, she was wounded what was their names? that's it Shaun and Rebecca, she was shot!" I nodded seeing a seat at a table with an map on sat down as we began to talk about what to do next!"
