Faith 2: The girls receive a warning and Faith finally rolls for a third time

Faith gulped, looked around into everyone else’s worried eyes, and pulled the card.

Faith read aloud, “Warning. Any player who rolls doubles three times in a single turn will be sent to jail.”

Silence hung in the air as they thought about what that might mean for a magic board game. There wasn’t any obvious spot on the board that looked like “Jail” from monopoly either, but Faith hoped it’d be something like that.

“Well, that’s not gonna happen!” Faith proclaimed with confidence as she rolled the dice.

“Seven! Safe! No jail for me!” Faith said while looking down at her six and one.

Lucy and Mia patted her on the back to congratulate her as Faith’s knees made contact with them both. She brought her legs together and watched her high heel piece slide forward three spaces to a fork in the road and stop.

“Oh, it’s waiting for me? Uhhhh… I’m thinking left,” said Faith. Four spaces ahead on the left was a challenge space, and four on the right was a punishment. The right branch was a bit shorter but had a lot of punishment spaces. Faith wasn’t about to take the shortcut if it meant a guaranteed punishment!

Faith leaned forward to move her piece left but just before she reached it, it slid on its own and landed on her desired space.

Everyone tensed up and…

P’TIING!

The game was officially moving along again for the first time in over an hour, and everyone leaned in to read Faith’s three challenge cards.

The options were “Balancing Act”, “Hand to Hand”, and “Reversal of Fortune”.
