Chapter 8
by Brickhouse
How well does research go?
Fairly well
Felicity had gathered up a disguise for her scouting run, far cheaper clothes than she'd ever usually wear...to the point where she almost thought the dirt on the jeans was what she was paying for, a large jacket as well as a pair of ugly shades and a brunette wig. She had no intentions of revealing anything distinctive...her eye colour, hair colour...or even general body shape, for her plan to work she had to look like someone people try and ignore.
So far she'd narrowed down two potentials, both with similar signs to her first failed attempt...this third one had a much more interesting sign hanging in the window.
"No shoes no service" It simply said...it looked like there was space for the rest, but they had been removed at some point, what happened to them was irrelevant, that is what the sign read and those were her guidelines. Trying to hide her smirk she entered the store, seeing a younger person behind the cash register than the other stores...a young man who looked fresh out of college...this was probably his first job, or one of at least. Either way, an advantage in Felicity's favour.
Felicity pretended to look around the store, scoping out the layout more than anything, how aisles were arranged, sightlines, before picking up a loaf of bread and heading up to the counter.
"Oh uh, hey...anything else ma'am or...j-just this?" The man stammered...Felicity almost felt sorry for what she'd do to him...
"No just this thanks" She spoke in a fake Brooklin accent...potentially not neccesary but she was not one to take chances, ironically.
"I see, well that'll be ยข50 please" He **** a smile as he scanned the loaf, Felicity handed over the money, took her bread and left.
Now she had a target, she had greater intel and she had extra bread. This day went well indeed.
Does Felicity's plan work out this time?
