On the way you meet countless Rattata and a few Pidgeys. They aren't all that much trouble. During your last battle, Charmander actually shot a shower of sparks from his mouth at a Rattata, catching its fur on fire. This must be the move they call Ember. You've heard of it before, but only seen it on TV. If you remember right, fire's effective against grass, bugs, steel, and ice. It's not very effective against water, ground or rock though. So using it against Squirtle won't be much help. Speaking of Squirtle, You're sure Blue's been pushing Squirtle so hard it's already mastered Bubble. That's going to be hard on Charmander. You see a Pokemart clerk standing by the sign for Viridian City.
