Chapter 6 by EthanRave EthanRave

What kind of project is Yae working on?

Expanding 'her' reach

"I already told you, I'm not going to be a shrine maiden." Kuki huffed as she took off her mask.

"My dear Kuki...I assure you I understand and respect that stance." Yae corrected. "Which is why I am not here as the Head Shrine maiden but rather as the chief editor of Yae's publishing house."

"So this is more a favor for your company?" Kuki wondered. "Is there any legal issues you have?"

"No...no nothing like that. You see we're releasing a new book soon and I wanted some feedback." Yae explained. She took out the book from her purse and handed it to Kuki. "I'm looking to expand the business to hit some new demographics and I was hoping if you would do me a favor and read through our first draft."

"I would consider it a favor." Yae smiled at her slyly.

"How big a favor?" Kuki questioned.

"Big enough to turn my head the other way should the Arataki Gang do anything....amusing." Yae told her.

Kuki sighed. Of course that would be the bargaining chip. It wasn't like she disapproved of it, but seriously could the boys not drag them so low. "Alright, alright." Kuki told her as she took the book. "I'll give it a read."

"Make sure you read it from cover to cover, no skimming." Yae told her. "Well then I'll leave you too it." Yae said as she left Kuki to her reading.

Seeing she had ****, Kuki took the book and went to find someplace quiet to read.

The book was...interesting to say the least. It was a strange attempt at horror writing. The plot was about some kids who thought it would be funny to use a board game to summon a spirit from beyond. As she read she followed along noting the faux attempt at a ritual that was present, probably to avoid actual risks. Then came the summoning chant.

"Spiritus, recipio vos in corpus meum." Kuki read.

She suddenly felt a chill run up her spine. She turned around in surprise. Then she noticed a cryo slime nearby just hopping along. She sighed before continuing on. As she read Kuki felt herself getting sleepier and sleepier. She tried to fight it but couldn't. Not even when the slim seemed to approach her. Soon she was out.

"Not bad." A dark voice came from the slime. It convulsed for a moment before a dark wisp evacuated its body. The wisp wasted no time and entered into the Shinobu's body. Kuki twisted and turned as the spirit invaded but to no avail. Soon she went still.

Kuki's eyes opened, pulsing red with power before they faded back into a dimmer purple. She stood up, staggering a bit before getting her bearings. She looked down at herself, feeling a body as a perverted smile etched itself on her face.

She turned her attention back to the slime, as she drew her knife. "Thanks for the ride." She commented in a sultry voice at the slime, before she rushed at the disoriented creature and slaughtered it.

"Oh yes." Kuki moaned as she felt the creature's residue land on her. She had missed the sensations of a human body for so long. She flipped the knife around, licking the blade clean, enjoying the taste a human tongue could bring her.

"Having fun." A voice spoke above. Kuki turned to see Yae Miko sitting by a small shrine not far away. The woman who made all this possible for her.

"Yes. Lady Guiji." Kuki chuckled. "I'm having a lot of fun indeed."

"That's good. I take it there was no issues with the spell." Yae commented.

"None...once she read it...I could feel her vessel be open to me." Kuki smiled.

"That's nice. Convince the others to read and we'll expand our control a bit before we launch the books." Yae told her. "And thank you Shinobu for you kind contributions to our cause." Yae snickered.

"No Lady Miko. Thank you." Kuki bowed.

Who's next
