Exhaustion and freedom

For the remainder of the night you walk the path, putting distance between yourselves and the defiled abbey. Xallia moves from Glenda to Anya and back, sometimes giving them a quick kiss or putting her arm around their waist. Every once in a while she comes close and rubs your shoulders. Any hope of keeping strict discipline are lost when a horny succubus travels with you.

As the sky begins to glow with the first rays of dawn Xallia calls a halt. She tells you, "I don't know exactly what will happen when the contract ends and the binding spell is triggered, but I think it would be best if we made camp." You feel a little envious and you can tell Anya feels the same, but you push away those feelings and strip to your shift, snuggling up to the young blonde between the heavy blankets. Anya tucks her head in against your breasts and asks very quietly, "Will we be okay?"

You stroke her hair and tell her you'll all make it to Gerlangen.

"I mean... this," she says, placing your hand against her belly.

You pull Anya closer and tell her that somehow the three of you will be alright. You don't know what to think about the daemons growing in your belly, but the burning rose has not abandoned you - either of you - so you will be alright.

Then you feel something deep inside. Past Glenda and Xallia you see the edge of the sun crest the horizon. Both girls grimace and you feel Anya go stiff in your arms. Your gut feels slimy, your womb hot and your skin clammy. Thank the goddess you're lying down as your head is swimming. It feels like something is pressing against you from all sides, like the world itself is trying to push you away. Then it's gone. You can't tell how much time passed until you look back to the sun. It has moved, but only a fraction of an inch higher. You could have sworn that feeling went on for many long minutes but it was just seconds.

Xallia's head lifts from the ground and she says, "That's right! You can't have them. They're mine. And you can't have me either, so I am free!" She laughs and laughs and gives Glenda a solid kiss on the lips. "Free, free, free!" she repeats, her voice filled with joy.

Your strength leaves you soon after, as if everything that's happened in the last day has finally settled on your shoulders. You were supposed to keep your eyes open and watch for trouble, but your head hits the blanket and you're asleep before you know it.
