Everyone! (Dishonest)

David looked up at the sea of unhappy faces. Sure there were only four but his head was on the line and he needed them to help. Without them who knows what the game would do to him. “Okay. Here’s the deal. I have three not so bad cards: Edged, Werewolf, and Hot. Will any of you take them?”

Kody’s ear flicked at the word Werewolf. He was done being treated like a dog. But at the same time it was probably their best bet. Considering how much of a wolf he’s become already. Kody turned to Caiden, who was frowning himself.

Caiden spoke first, “Okay, either we all do it or none of us do it. These are red cards we’re dealing with here, I’d rather him get punished alone rather than all of us.” David smiled and nodded.

He held onto the five cards, glancing at the fourth and fifth. He really didn’t want that. No matter what he wanted those gone. “Greg?” Greg looked over at his brother with a stern face. “Could i interest you in the Hot card? It sounds good from the description. ‘Total hottie alert’ is what it says.”

Greg turned to his sons who were watching him. “You both better get one yourselves.” David grinned and passed over Kinkybootsand underneath the Hot card. Making it seem like one.

“Okay, Kody, I do have the werewolf card.” Kody let out a growl. He really didn’t want another wolf related card. Caiden spoke up, not wanting to Kody getting angry this close to a win for David.

“I’ll take it.” He handed over the correct card to Caiden. With a sly smirk he held out the Cursed card, hoping Kody would just grab it without thought. His little stunt worked as Kody grabbed it. He didn’t even get to flip it over to see the deception as the board rumbled again, flinging all their cards into the center of the board.

A blinding light shone from the center. When they saw the board again the red cards were gone, the token characters were all standing again with bags of some sort on them, and a singular yellow card sat in the center.

“Rewards are cards in which their affects stay after the game even if the winner takes back scenarios.” David pursed his lips before grabbing it. Sure it was classified as a reward, but the game has made it clear their values don’t align.

He let out a soft sigh before flipping it over, “Risk-Reward; For success in the Risky Roads challenge anyone who has taken a curse card is protected from the next curse card they grab.” Caiden happily cheered. Kody simply smiled. Greg was looking at David confused. It didn’t say the cards they just grabbed were gone though.

David kept speaking, his own smile apparent. “The winner of this challenge now gets to change the curses everyone has received. Only one word may be added, removed, or changed -within reason.” Greg’s eyes widened as he looked at David’s still smiling face. “You may now change the curses.”

The doe ran up to the edge of the board closest to David. The bag on the back almost asking to be opened.
