Evening Plans

I leave the shop pretty soon after Jacob arrives. Being opener means I have more evening than usual, and I'm filling it by meeting up with a friend for some board games.

Luna and I have been going to this cafe to play games since highschool. My work schedule recently has limited how often we can meet up, but we manage.

She's already waiting for me when I enter. A couple game boxes are peeking from her open backpack, and the table has cards and an instruction packet covering it. We order our coffee and sit together at the small table.

"Yo, I got this new deckbuilder game. You build a cafe for little animals and compete for comfort and quality." Luna is really excited to get started, so we go ahead and get playing.

The game's fun, and simple enough to understand. We get a conversation going about work, relationships, and future plans.

"Y'know what? I have a date lined up for tomorrow night. We matched online, let me pull up her profile." I pull out my phone and open the dating app.

"Oh she's cute! If it doesn't work out for you, give her my number would ya?" I roll my eyes and laugh.

"Sure, sure. I gotta go to the bathroom, be back in a sec." I stand up and put my phone away, feeling the remote in my pocket.

"Don't fall in. I'll order food for us, your usual." She knows me so well, I think as I enter the restroom.

Just before the door closed, I pull out the Random Remote and target Luna. Maybe the remote will give me an idea about what to get her for her upcoming birthday.

I press the red button to send the remote spinning.
