A countdown began, and as it reached te final seconds, the rods containing the arcing energy receded into the floor, allowing the energy into the room he was in. He began running to the door to escape when an arc of energy hit his back, stunning him. As he was the larger target between him and the rat, more arcs hit his head and limbs, altering his body chemistry, and burning his clothes away.

After the demonstration, the machine slowly turned off, leaving EO in a fog covered rom, kneeling, covered in sweat, and 100% naked. The lab technicians opened the door and rushed to him. They placed him on a gurney and took him to an observation room. He woke up a short time later, and was informed he had gotten imbued with what the scientists explained were basically speedster powers. He would be able to run and move at superspeed. Unlike other speedsters, he is able to take off with an initial burst of speed that they were unable to quantify.
