One hour later:
"Well, I'm sure glad I have a badass Slayer like you to walk me home, Buffy," said Amy. "It sometimes gets scary in these vampire towns after dark."
"Heh," said Buffy. "You need me for protection? You, the big bad witch who just took down a god? I should be looking to you for protection."
"I didn't really take down a god," said Amy. "I just sent her away."
"Well, whatever," said Buffy. "The fact is, she's gone now and it's all thanks to you."
"You're welcome," said Amy.
The two women were silent for a moment.
Then Amy said, "Did you really mean what you said to Glory, Buffy?"
"What do you mean?" asked Buffy.
"That part about loyalty and all that," said Amy. "You weren't just saying all that to yank Glory's chain, were you?"
"Of course not," said Buffy.
"Good," said Amy. "Because I'd like to think that, despite everything that happened tonight, we can still be friends."
"Hey, you literally saved my life tonight," said Buffy. "Of course we can be friends."
"And you literally saved mine as well," said Amy. "I guess this is what people in the old movies call the start of a beautiful friendship. And to think it was all due to Glory."
"Who?" asked Buffy.
"Glory," said Amy. "That woman we fought tonight."
"I thought it was Glenda," said Buffy.
"No, I'm pretty sure it was Glory," said Amy. "Or maybe Gloria. Or perhaps Gloriana."
"Anyway, whoever it was, I do remember she wore a red dress," said Buffy.
"No, it was pink," said Amy.
"No, I'm pretty sure it was red," said Buffy.
"No, it was pink," said Amy. "Or white. Oh, no, that was Drusilla's dress."
"Anyway, whoever it was kept talking about someone named Barry or Barney or Bernard..." said Buffy.
"I don't think all that really matters," said Amy. "Whoever it was, I highly doubt she'll ever show her face in Sunnydale again."
"Amen to that, sister," said Buffy.
