Epilogue

Valerie knocked on the door to Eva's office. She had just finished listening to her mission briefing, and she had a few minutes to spare before heading out.

"Come in.", said Eva. She opened the door and stepped inside.

"Oh, it's you.", exclaimed Eva, standing up from her desk. "Ma'am.", she added nervously.

Valerie smiled. "You don't need to call me that. Valerie is fine." She deposited Eva's waistcoat on her desk. "Thanks for giving this to me when I needed it."

"It's n-no biggie.", Eva said, stumbling on her words and brushing her hair behind her ear. "Y-you found something to wear I see. It looks really nice."

Valerie smiled, looking down at the illusion created by her bodypaint. It seemed Eva wasn't able to tell, even when she was standing only a few feet away from her. This tech is really something, she thought. "Thanks.", she replied finally. "I have a mission in the field, so, uh..see you around."

Valerie started to leave, when she heard Eva say "Um, listen, about what happened in the elevator...". She stopped, turning around to face the agent.

"Don't worry about it.", she said.

She planted a quick kiss on a surprised Eva's cheek before quickly leaving the room.
