Epilogue

Nine months later, the recently betrothed Sam Putnam and Carrie Hall both gave birth. Sam gave birth to twin boys; Carrie gave birth to twin girls.

You'd attended the wedding, of course. It was hard to believe that you'd fucked Carrie. Your dad had fucked Carrie. But she'd married your sister. Your dad had difficulty reckoning with the fact that his ex-girlfriend was now his daughter-in-law. Equally difficult was the fact that his grandkids were all half-black. But, Carrie thought as she held her daughters for the first time, this was a good ending for her.
