Chapter 12 by ThomasMoro ThomasMoro

What happens next?

Epilogue aka Martha makes a choice

"Well, I'm sure glad we all sorted all that out with Missy and Clara," said the Doctor as he and a naked Martha headed back to the TARDIS. "However, I am a bit sorry we never found that Dalek."

"There was no Dalek!" exclaimed Martha, inadvertently uncovering her bare chest to make a sweeping gesture with her arms. "Missy said she made that up, remember?"

"Yes, she did," said the Doctor. "But then she lied about a lot of other stuff as well. So how can you be sure she was telling the truth that time?"

"We can't," said Martha. "But apart from that ship, we never ever saw any real sign that a Dalek was here and Missy herself admitted that she stole that ship."

"Still it all worked out in the end, didn't it?" asked the Doctor. "Missy agreed to let Clara wear clothes again and to take her back to her home planet. Surely that would have never happened if you and I had never crossed paths with them."

"True, but can we trust Missy to keep her end of the bargain?" asked Martha. "That's what I want to know."

"Well, I don't know, Martha," said the Doctor. "Sometimes you have to just trust peop -- Hey, wait a minute! I don't remember the TARDIS being over there!"

And sure enough, there was a familiar blue police box just a yard ahead of them. As the Doctor and Martha watched, a young naked black girl who looked just like Martha stepped out of the box and ran toward them.

"Doctor," she said, "Thank God I caught up with you in time. I know we're not supposed to cross our own timelines but I just had to warn you about this woman named Missy. By no means should you try to talk to her. And if you interfere with her and her companion, that's just going to cause all kinds of trouble."

"Too late," said the Doctor. "We already did all that."

"You did?" asked the naked black girl. "You two have no idea what you've done!"

Then the girl ran back into her TARDIS and closed the door.

Five minutes later, it disappeared.

"Who was that?" asked Martha.

"Your future self, I reckon," said the Doctor. "Apparently something went wrong in that particular timeline."

Just then another blue police box appeared and yet another naked black girl who looked like Martha ran out of it.

"Doctor," she said, "Thank God I caught up with you in time. I know we're not supposed to cross our own timelines but I just had to warn you about this woman named Missy. By no means should you not try to talk to her. And if you don't try to interfere with her and her companion, that's just going to cause all kinds of trouble."

Then the girl ran back into her TARDIS and closed the door.

Five minutes later, it too disappeared.

"Wait!" exclaimed Martha. "Was that my future self too?"

"Well, at the very least, it was one of your future selves," said the Doctor. "I wonder how many more we'll see."

Just then yet another blue police box appeared. This time a young naked blonde girl got out. She started to say something, stopped to cover herself, started to speak again, then put her arms down and made a gesture that seemed to mean "Oh, forget it."

Then she too ran back into her TARDIS and five minutes later, it too disappeared.

"I wonder what Rose wanted," said the Doctor.

"Wait!" said Martha. "You know that woman?"

"Of course I do," said the Doctor. "She used to be a companion of mine. Although I don't quite remember her being naked."

Then yet another blue police box showed up. This time a naked middle-aged redhead got out.

"Doctor," she said, "I don't know what you did at my wedding but you got to come back and fix it. And please don't give me any nonsense about not wanting to cross the timelines."

Then the redhead ran back into her TARDIS.

As this last TARDIS disappeared, Martha said, "Let me guess. Yet another companion."

"Perhaps," said the Doctor. "Her face did look familiar."

"Do all your female companions end up naked?" asked Martha.

"I don't think so," said the Doctor. "Why do you ask?"

"Because now I have a choice," said Martha. "Follow you to the TARDIS and take the chance that I may never find a cure for my nakedness or else stay here and go to medical school."

"Well, you've always had that choice," said the Doctor. "But right now I probably should be going back to that poor woman's wedding. Wanna come along?"

Martha thought about it a moment and then said, "Why the hell not?"

The end? Or is this just the beginning?
