Epilogue P.4 (A Summer Assignment)

“Listen girls this is the best I can do!” The University President sat at the head of the conference table in the large Presidential suite. He looked at the shocked and angry faces that encircled him.

There was Nicole who the words of the conversation hadn’t seemed to reach. Next to her was Rose who looked more shocked than anything.

There was Amelia, Mel, and Nick who while they had been spared embarrassment by Marci the blackmailer weren’t about to be let off the hook so easily.

Rylee sat with Lena and Kerri who had gone skinny dipping with her and her little June who had helped film her.

Jenna sat with her sisters Steph and Deb. Across from them still staring daggers back and forth was Nina.

It was an entire cast of characters that had participated in Marci’s game.

“So let me get this straight.” Jenna fired at the president despite not taking her eyes off Nina. “We’re getting punished for getting blackmailed?”

“Yeah how is that fair?” Rose argued.

“All I did was film some videos? Why am I here?” Jean also shouted.

“What about Alexis and Taryn? They played along as well! Why aren’t you trying to punish them?”

The University President held up his hand. Silence fell over the girls and Nick.

“As I have said. What happened to you girls is terrible. No one should ever have had to go thru what you went thru at Miss Henderson’s hand. But what you all did was illegal. And their are a lot of people in the community, and if I’m being honest on the board of regents aka my bosses that didn’t enjoy that for a week there were naked girls running amok all over campus.” He took a brief pause and looked at the girls slowly.

“These people are upset. And while they also sympathize with what you were put thru participating in this game was not the way to go about it. At every turn you all rebuffed and ignored the police investigation and continued to participate. And I understand why, but there has to be some consequences!” A small **** of argument began again that the old man in his tweed suit silenced again.

“Now all of you participated in some way or another, whether it be active participation, or passive help in participation you all played a roll in all this. I have spoken with the District Attorney and with the upset parties and am prepared to offer you all a deal right here and now. The University operates a summer institution for academics to use in the summer. It’s on the shores of a Lake in the woods of Colorado. It’s quite beautiful. Basically it is a place for professors and the like to go and spend a week or two working on papers and research in peace. It needs staffing. I have arranged for each of you to work in pairs on a two week shift. The University will pay for your travel to and from the Lodge and provide you with a room and meals while you are there.”

“And if we don’t accept?” Nina asked.

“Then your name will be passed along to the DA for prosecution.”

The group was silent till Amelia spoke. “I think what you suggest sounds fair.”

The group murmured but came to the consensus. They would all participate.

“Good. Here is the current schedule I have drawn up: Weeks 1 and 2 will be Jean and Rose. Weeks 3-4 Steph and Deb. Weeks 5-6 Nina and Jenna. 7-8 Amelia and Nicole. Weeks 9-10 Lena and Kerri. Weeks 11-12 Mel and Nick. And final Weeks 13-14 will be Rylee. Rylee you will be paired with another student by the name of Olivia who… let’s just say is also taking this deal to avoid other legal issues.”

No one argued the pairings or the dates. In fact a few seemed excited. None more than Nina and Jenna who were still staring at each other with hatred. The entire student body was still talking about Jenna being tied naked to the tree. An act that she vowed **** for.

Alright. Well with all that settled I wish you all the best of luck with finals next week, and a good winter break.” The President stood and left the room with a curt nod.
