Chapter 22 by HolyFate HolyFate

Epilogue! Marsha schemes again!

A few days later, Batman, Robin and Alfred, holding the Bat Diamond, were in the Batcave. Batman turned a few knobs on a piece of equipment.

"Ready, Alfred?" asked Batman.

"As ever, sir," replied Alfred, and he placed the diamond back onto its pedestal. Seconds later, the cave hummed back to life.

"And with that, our recent ordeal seems to be at an end. Marsha is in custody, the Commissioner, the Chief, and the rest of Marsha's servants have been restored to normal, and the Bat Diamond is safe once more." said Batman.

Robin raised an eyebrow. "I'm not so sure, Batman. Catwoman is still out there with all of Marsha's stolen loot! Plus, she still has the love potion, which she could use at any time!"

Batman placed a hand on Robin's shoulder. "Don't worry old chum, we'll catch up with Catwoman soon enough. And I wouldn't worry about her using love potion, if she wanted to employ Marsha's methods, we would still be under her spell. No, it's simply not her style."

"Well, let's hope she doesn't change her mind. That love potion is powerful stuff! I would've kicked my own grandmother just to be able to have Catwoman spit on me!"

"Trust me Robin, I know all too well. The feeling is powerful, overwhelming. I performed many regrettable actions while under Marsha's influence, that I ultimately must make amends for. But as for Catwoman, I trust that she's as good as her word in this case. In a strange way, we owe her our lives. And I once again am thankful for you too, Robin. Your quick thinking and action eventually saved us all from Marsha's clutches."

Robin blushed. "Thanks Batman. I have to say, I never expected to be working with Catwoman. Maybe there's a chance she could someday give up her criminal ways?"

Batman gave a small smile. "I hope so, Robin. If she truly has nine lives, perhaps one of them she could spend with…" He trailed off, not allowing himself to even imagine such a fantasy.

***********************

Some time later, Marsha was being escorted out of Gotham State Penitentiary. Several prison guards followed her, with dopey grins on their faces. She was wearing a shiny silver pantsuit, and looked as glamourous as ever, despite coming from prison.

"Do you have to go, Marsha?" asked one of the guards, a handsome young man.

"I'm afraid so, darling. It's been lovely to have you to play with, but I really must be going. Still, here's something to remember me by."

The older woman wrapped her arms around the guard and gave him a slow and sensual kiss, leaving pink lipstick on his face.

"Ciao, darlings," she said, stepping into a waiting limousine.

"Welcome, deary!" Aunt Hilda was waiting for her with a glass of champagne.

"Auntie, darling, the perfume you slipped me worked like a charm! I had the parole board eating out of my hand, among other places. I'm a free woman once more!" said Marsha with a triumphant smile.

"Wonderful deary! It was so boring without having a criminal empire to help build."

Marsha rolled her eyes. "I'm sure, darling. But now we're back to square one. All my precious diamonds, my servants, all gone!"

Aunt Hilda grinned. "All will be returned in good time, deary. And I know just where to start!"

"Hopefully somewhere far far away from Batman, Robin, and that wretched Catwoman" Marsha said with a scowl. "They ruined everything!"

"Don't worry, Marsha my dear, those heroes are yesterday's news. Take a look at this!"

Hilda handed Marsha a newspaper. She read the headline out loud. "Exclusive interview with Superman? Hilda, what's the meaning of this?"

"A new superhero in the scene, in Metropolis. Showed up right after you had your little problem with the law. Keep reading, deary."

Marsha's eyes got bigger and bigger as she read the article, before exclaiming "He's able to transform a lump of coal into a diamond using only his fist?! Hilda, it's a dream come true! I'd have an infinite amount of diamonds! And with his other powers, he'd be just what we need to get **** on the Bat and the Cat. And, it doesn't hurt that he's also a super-hunk!" she said, looking at the picture printed on the page.

"I thought you'd like that part, deary!" said Aunt Hilda with a laugh.

"Now, how do we get him?" Marsha's eyes glanced to the article's byline." Hmm.. I think maybe we should pay a visit to this… Lois Lane."
