Epilog 1

Link didn’t actually know what would happen when going into the Land of Brawl with Peach’s profile and the Princess Crown, but in some ways was pleased that it had left her name as Queen Lin Toadstool. If she had to keep Peach’s profile at least she could do it with some more power. This world had treated her like an alternative to Peach, slightly heavier, so less floating and a little stronger. The biggest change was her grab ability, being renamed to Royal Authority, having a reach longer than her old hookshot. It was an interesting change as far as she was concerned and proved helpful in matches.

The main goal of being in Brawl was twofold and both made her feel like a failure. First was to meet back up with Princess Peach and after what felt like hundreds of battles, Lin still hadn’t seen the woman. After each round she expected to see Peach wearing her items, wearing her clothes. On some level Lin was relieved, not wanting to explain why she looked the way she was, but even that faded away over time when Peach didn’t show her face. The second was to keep Bowser in check, but she hadn’t been in Brawl long before they had been split up for different battles. She cursed herself for not making them form a team so that wouldn’t happen, but after they got split up, he had left.

Lin sat in the waiting room, her legs crossed at the knee, she dangled her pink high heeled shoe as her mind wandered. Not for the first time she thought of going back to the Mushroom Kingdom to make sure things were okay, while also knowing that if she wanted to go back to who she used to be… who she really was, waiting here was the only real option. If she left and Peach showed up, she just might leave again.

While she contemplated what to do, someone else showed up in the waiting room. The tall powerful form of Ganondorf stood before her, it wasn’t the Ganondorf from her world, but still the sight of him brought a sneer to her face. ‘Today couldn’t get much worse.’ She thought and regretting it right away as he sat downright next to her.

“Queen Toadstool…” Ganondorf drew out the name like he was tasting it. “I don’t think we have met before.”

Lin could feel his eyes roaming over her body, causing an uncomfortable shiver to run through her.

“Cold? It does get a little chilly in the waiting room, nothing like the deserts back home at night, but I do have to say you are just as beautiful as the star filled skies back home.” He said, draping one arm onto the back of the smaller woman’s chair, wrapping his arm around her. “I can keep you warm till the match starts. How about we team up?”

“Yeah, I…” Lin was going to finish the sentence with “don’t think so.” But her words failed her as she felt the gerudo man’s other hand touch her exposed thigh. Pressing one hand to his chest to shove him away, she turned her head to look away feeling like she was going to sick as her stomach churned.

“Wonderful.” Ganondorf said with a wide smile on his face, setting them up as a team and wondering if his dark magic would allow him to take the woman back home with him. He had kidnapped a princess before, but a Queen was something entirely different.
