Enveloped in Darkness

"WAKE UP!"

That's all she heard as her eyes slowly twitched open. A violent cough followed, what little water she had contracted while ****. Her amber gaze up at the woman before her. A doctor? Is she here to save her?

"Ver... Veronica..."

She whimpered out through her coughing fit.

"Sous-chef... Ronnie for short..."

She unbuckled herself from the seat, the water was still rushing in through the building, but just below her knees. It was lowering down with each passing second. In a daze, she pulled her phone, still working within the baggy.

"Stay... Stay indoors, this is not a drill. The anomaly... Our bravest scientists in NASA... Are searching into what it is... And issuing the best corse of action..."

It seems their safe somewhere, quite possibly a bunker if their still broadcasting, even if it was full of static.

"Those on the East and West coastlines... Seek shelter... At higher elevations. Rescue teams will be... Dispatched..."

Veronica let out a sigh to the news, turning it off.

"Chae... I'm good to walk... Shall we head up and check the situation?"

It was still dark out, all thanks to the eclipse. What light is given to them, are from the flickering office lights that are struggling to stay on.
