At the enterance off to the side was a worn rucksack weathered and old, while trying to pick it up it practically fell apart in my hands. Worthless, I rummaged through its contents, everything worthless except for a couple torches. The rest was spoiled food, a water bag with a hole worn into it, othing else really usable or of value.

At least I had light. Lighting the torch I entered into the mouth of the cave. It was three stories high at the enterance and did not look natural. It was carved with straight lines and intricate carvings of runes I could not read. Interesting to look at it, impressive and intimidating. It lead into the mountain and turned so that when you finally got to the huge ten foot tall eight foot wide door you could not see the enterance.

It was a heavy wood door banded with steal strips and rivets as large as my fist. It had a huge brass ring for a handle. It appeared as if you had to push it. So I didn’t knock I just pushed it. I had to put my shoulder into it to get it to start moving. I opened it enough for me to slip in. The door stayed open and I walked through. I was about twelve feet away and I heard it creaking behind me. I turned to look and it was closing. My heart kept into my throat and I ran over to it but not intime to prevent it from thudding shut.

There was nothing on it that would allow you to pull it open. If it had the huge rings on it I could pull it open but it was on the other side of the door. I could not pull a door as heavy as this open without anything to grab.

I suddenly doubted my resolve. I was trapped. I took in a deep breath and spun around. The semi loud thump of the door closing may have alerted something. I held my torch above my head as I walked so it would light the way without the light being directly in my face and half blinding me. The Hall way was at least two stories high and the same wide making it square in appearance.

I walked on. It ended in a T intersection. Looking down both paths it went until I could see nothing but darkness both ways.
