Enemies

You take a few moments to consider your options as Bruno stares at you with a confident smile on his face. You're still trying to come to terms with the fact that Bruno possesses a magic ring of his own. You really haven't given much thought since coming into your 5 rings that there may be more out there. Now that you think about it, since magic is real, you couldn't possibly be the only person to wield it. Bruno could be only 1 of many more to come.

Of course, there are many more questions you have floating around in your head, but there is an important choice that Bruno has laid out in front of you to make right now. You can either choose to become his ally or his enemy, with no middle ground apparently.

In the end, you consider that you barely know Bruno or his ultimate intentions, plus the fact that he sounded jealous of your rings. He only has 1 ring, and the more you think about its power, the less impressed you are.

You decide to double cross Bruno and move to activate your ring to stop time. Bruno must have been wary that you might do that, and he activates the power of his ring at the same time. You stop time. Bruno is frozen in place and there's nothing he can do about you now.

Chuckling to yourself, you stand up and walk over to him, intending to steal his ring off while he can't move. However, something strange happens. Just as you reach down for Bruno's hand to take the ring, you slip and fall, accidentally deactivating your time control ring in the process. Wincing, you look up at Bruno, who's calmly staring down at you. His smile is gone, replaced with a disdainful smirk.

Quickly, you activate your invisibility ring and get up. The same thing happens again when you try to approach Bruno. You slip and deactivate your ring, becoming visible again. This time, you get up and back up, confused and amazed at the abilities of Bruno's ring.

"Enemies it is, I guess. A pity," Bruno says in disgust. "Get off my plane."

You consider trying the rest of your magic rings, but you can guess the outcomes already.

"Shit," you curse, activating your teleportation ring to bring you back to the mansion. The security of the mansion and your feet on the ground is little assurance as you slam your fist against a nearby wall in anger. You've made a grave mistake.
