He picked the "Emotional" category and was overwhelmed with a new menu of options. He picked the one at the top - "Maximum Intensity".

Presented with a dial, Jeremy thought for a second and slid it to zero. The slate chimed again, but was otherwise unchanged. He was about to return to the original menu and explore more options when his phone buzzed with a text alert from his girlfriend.

did you find a slate in my office? did you do anything to it?

He almost dropped his phone in surprise. How could she know? He texted back in the affirmative and immediately got a reply.
