"Any luck with job hunting?"

I turned to see my roommate, Emma Watson, leaning against an easy chair on the floor.

"Yeah," I said. "But ten years as a hypnotist doesn't have employers racing to hire me."

"You have a psychology degree, though," Emma said. "You graduated top of our class with honors, that has to count for something."

Emma was right. Despite her not really being around too much in high school, what with her filming of Harry Potter and all, she knew enough to know I was top of our senior class. Emma and I had grown up together, and I was surprised when she was cast as Hermione when we were kids.

"I'm sure you'll find something soon," she said. "But I actually want to see how your hypnosis works. I don't think you've ever showed me."

I got the pendant I use for hypnosis and explained to Emma how my method worked. I held the pendant in front of her face and explained that I told the volunteers to focus on the pendant, and that everything else around them would vanish. I then told her that their eyes would get heavy because the pendant weighed a lot, and because they focused on it their eyes would droop. Finally, all it took was one firm snap and they would fall asleep...

Much like Emma did. I watched as her body slumped forward slightly.

"Didn't realize I was going that in-depth," I laughed. I was going to snap Emma out of it, but realized I could have some fun with her in a trance like this.
