Emma Hunt brushes her wave auburn hair out of her face and frowns. In her house, it isn't actually her that needs motivation. It's Dan.

Dan has been a problem ever since he hit puberty. It was bad enough how much trouble he got in with the teachers, but now that he is a fully grown 21 year old man, it is just completely unacceptable how he still behaves like a rude, sexist, unhygienic, disrespectful, disobedient jerk.

The fact that he doesn't have a job and just lazes around all day is bad enough. But at least in this new modern age of plenty, they aren't going hungry or anything. No, the employment situation isn't the priority. But there are several other things that need to change, and need to change today.

Emma knocks on the door to her son's bedroom.

"Dan, I have an important announcement to make." She calls in as stern a voice as she could muster, which has never been very stern.

When she gets no reply, she snarls in frustration, and twists the doorknob anyway, storming inside.

"Oh Dan, NO!" Emma squeals with horror.

Her son is at his PC, headphones on, beating his meat to the most vile pornography imaginable. "Mum, wait, what? How can you sign me up? Surely you can only consent for-"

"For myself, that's right. I've just given The Motivator FULL AUTHORITY to punish ME as it sees fit, if YOU break any of the following rules, from now on."

Emma shows her phone to Dan, who reads out the list in horror.

"Always obey the speed limit when driving... Don't piss in the bathroom sink... Always take out the rubbish on bin night... And NEVER WATCH DEGRADING PORN AGAIN?!" Dan whines, outraged. "You CANNOT be serious!"

To show Dan just how serious she is, she holds her finger against the fingerprint reader, and speaks into the bottom of her phone.

"I consent." She says, loud and clearly.

With a little digital tune, the digital contract is sealed, and Emma has now irreversibly consented to the experimental motivational punishments.

"You're insane!" Dan gasps, flabbergastered.

"You're disgusting." Emma snaps back, still livid. "And now you know what's at stake if you don't clean up your act. Your own mother, who patiently and lovingly raised you and cared for you for 21 years and counting... Who knows what awful things will happen to her if you don't follow your new rules."

"I can't belive this." Dan mutters quietly.

"You'd better believe it. Things are changing around here, starting today. I know you're a good-for-nothing piece of shit, but even you wouldn't let anything awful happen to you own mother, would you now." Emma challenges him confidently.

Dan's anger is now building - he's not used to being talked to this way, and he hates the idea of never watching any good porn ever again, never mind those other dumb rules.

"And what if I did." Dan spits back fiercely.

"Don't you dare even think about it." Emma responds coldly, but quietly.

Her son is just staring at her with cold, furious eyes. She's starting to feel uncomfortable, and even a little scared.

"Don't you dare." She says quietly, and then before this standoff can escalate any further, she backs out of the room and closes the door, her heart beating rapidly.
