Chapter 5 by coomerman69

Who does he see?

Elowyn, the tomboyish childhood friend.

Moris opened his eyes to a bright Summer morning. He felt the familiar sensation of riding a horse, and found himself galloping alongside a stream. Not far to his side, he saw another rider riding alongside another stream. It was Elowyn. Her curly ginger locks flowed in the wind, and a smile lay plastered across her face.

The ride went on, and soon the two streams became one raging river. Moris only had to blink, and he found that Elowyn was now riding alongside him. Two lives that were once so close had been separated, then joined back together, stronger than ever.

Moris felt strength and comfort well up within him. Elowyn, who had always been his closest confidant, was now bound to him, and him to her. He calmed her wild soul, and she spiced up his temperate life. This was his happily ever after.

"Hey, wake up, big man." Moxie called to him.

Moris opened his eyes. Though he'd been separated from his wonderful dream, the feeling of love and fulfilment remained. "Good morning, Mox," he said with a smile.

"I'm guessing you had a nice dream?" Moxie's pointed ears perked up as she raised an eyebrow.

"Something like that, yes." He spoke reservedly. He didn't want to let too much slip and give Moxie more material to tease him with.

"Interesting," Moxie began to scribble into her notebook. "So you managed to dream in a short ten minutes. Do you feel rested?"

"Like I just slept in." Moris stood up and stretched, then took the perfume from the table and tossed it up in the air before catching it. "Anything else, Mox?"

"That should be enough for now." Moxie kept scribbling her notes as she added one final comment. "Don't go breaking any hearts tonight, big man."

Moris turned to leave, and gave himself the final word. "Gods I hope I don't."
