Eliza's first punishment

As Daisy begins to share the short experience she's had with Elizabeth, I take note of her body language and demeanor. Despite the initial shock, she seems eager to open up and express her thoughts. She tells me that Elizabeth barged in and told her that she would have her own room soon; she wasn't going to bother to unpack or get changed because she didn't know if Daisy would be kicked out or she would be moved. Additionally, Daisy shares that Elizabeth has made disparaging comments about her background and personal appearance. Daisy says she didn't like the stuck-up bitch right away and told Eliza that, before they could get into a full-blown argument, I had called.

I decided to bring up the incident when Elizabeth referred to Daisy as a "skank." Daisy appears angry but bites her lip. I smile at her and list out a series of possible punishments: "I'll let you pick one of her punishments, and then I'll decide on others." Daisy had a moment to think and then picked one, and I think this will definitely put this little snob in her place.

I call Elizabeth back into my office to inform her of the consequences of her actions. "Eliza, come back in here, please," I shout loudly.

I inform her of the punishment Daisy decided for her: "Eliza, you won't believe the amount of clothes students leave behind or lose in this place; that's really lucky for you." She pulls a confused face and asks, Why is that lucky for her?"

I continue, "Well, obviously, in this school we allow students to wear their own clothes on weekends, but I'm confiscating yours; they will be placed in storage, and I'm going to send you and Daisy to Lost and Found to select the clothes you will wear. These garments may not fit well or match your style, but that is beside the point. We want to ensure that you recognise the impact of your words and actions and, hopefully, learn to treat those around you with kindness and respect. Don't panic though, as I said, you will be surprised by the amount of clothing. I'm sure with Daisy's help, you'll find things that will work."

At first, Elizabeth tries to argue against this, claiming it's unfair and humiliating. However, I hold firm and remind her that she brought this upon herself with her thoughtless and hurtful behaviour.

"Now, I'll send you girls to Lost and Found; both of you will come back with any clothes you find suitable, and then I'll move on to your next punishment. You don't mind helping Eliza, do you, Daisy?"

Daisy seemed very pleased, and she agreed.
