Elevator Ride

There was a moment of silence as the elevator continued to descend, the readout slowly ticking down as the floors went by.

''Wow, so you screwed Kristen and I missed out'' Ruby crossed her arms

''We didn't even know where you were. Besides, is that really your take away from what I just told you?''

''Uh, yeah. You two got to have all the fun while I was locked in some pod?And then you spend all morning cockblocking me?''

Her response made it clear I wasn't getting anywhere. ''Look, Ruby, something still isn't right, we need to find Kristen and find our phones. Besides, something clearly wasn't right with the maid either, you don't know what would have happened''

She scoffed at me ''You're right, I don't and I'm not gonna because my bestie is a prude''

''Ruby, whoever sent us the app is playing with us, I don't want to be someones toy''

''C'mon, not even just for the night'' Ruby said, stepping closer to me and resting one hand on my side.

I pushed her away ''No. And if you're just going to be like this, I'll find Kristen on my own''

''Fine, I'll keep my chastity belt on, miss buzzkill... Can't enjoy godlike power, can't enjoy orgies...'' Her voice trailed off as she started to mutter discontently under her breath

''Ruby, are you sure you're okay?''

I opened my mouth, ready to respond, when the elevator pinged, the doors sliding open a moment after

''We'll talk about this later'' I said, trying to regain my composure and stepping out into the lobby
