Chapter 25 by Admira Admira

Woo! Go team!

Elemental Manipulation

I couldn't help but skip my hooves and laugh.

I am an Earthbender! With every step, an invisible **** rippled through the stone. Mending cracks, dislodging dust and dry mold, even revealing the occasional secret tunnel. Like this one we're currently in.

Emmy followed behind me, smiling widely as with every wave of her arm, loose detritus funneled into the floating orb of dirt beside her. Amazed by the magic I had granted her. I could do that now, Gwen will be so jealous.

It was actually a really interesting process. I could do nearly anything with the ring, but it was too expensive and unwieldy to use. I could activate the ring every time I wanted to see auras, summon fire, lift stuff telekinetically, or mend stone. Bit I would quickly be exhausted and it would be really slow and couldn't effect men directly.

It was much more efficient and flexible to enchant an object, or infuse a soul with an ability. Like grant someone control over wind or fire. Maybe even aura sight or telepathy.

They could only handle a few minor abilities at a time though, and they required practice to do anything impressive. So no instant demigods. According to Regina anyway.

All this meant I needed to save the ring for big or complicated things to keep growing in strength. The minor things I needed to do over and over and would cause me to plateau from exhaustion, were better done with an enchantment or ability.

Which is why Emmy and I can play catch with our minds now.

We stopped for lunch, most of the foundation repaired and three secret tunnels mapped out. Regina could make awesome sandwiches. We obeyed the apron to thank her.

It was early afternoon and we'd moved on to fixing the stone paths crisscrossing the courtyard when Taylor drove up.

With an impressive amount of dexterity, Emmy made a V sign with a cloud of dust shaped into a hand. It only had three fingers, but my elf only had like six hours of practice with magic so still cool.

Arachne stared at elf. Elf grinned. Arachne looked at succubus. "How the hell is she doing that?"

I couldn't resist. I clapped my hands above my head then spread them wide, the image of a rainbow arcing from palm to palm over my head. "Maaaggiiicccc~"

Emmy giggled and took pity on her, "She can give us minor superpowers now." I tickled her side with my tail in ****. Causing her to shriek and nearly drop the dust hand. That's what you get for running around naked!

With arms full of wiggly elf, I asked, "Yeah I can do that now. What do you want? It seems to depend on personality a little. Fire and earth are easy for me, but wind is all brute **** and water just kinda ripples in disinterest at me." Taylor blinked as I continued,"You already have aura sight, wanna try out telepathy?"

Taylor shook her head and blushed slightly. "Actually... Could you make me better at making silk? It's very strong, but the color is an off-white and the threads are too thick to do any detail work." The six foot, sleekly muscled Arachne twiddled her thumbs and traced a design in the stone with a claw.

I shrugged, "Alright, super silk coming right up."

I pressed a hand to her abdomen and focused. She gasped and her spinnerets twitched as I infused her soul with the ability to color her silk and change its texture, elasticity, and thickness without compromising on strength.

Her hands blurred at her abdomen, weaving a silken ribbon that shimmered with all the colors of the rainbow. I squeaked when Taylor crushed me to her chest in a hug.

"Thank you Morgan! I can make almost anything now. I'll have a gift for you tomorrow, and then I can make clothes and bedding for everyone." She let go of me, kissed Emmy on the forehead, then skittered into the house, ribbon clutched to her chest.

Emmy helped me up, my spine crackled and popped as I straightened. What happened to the aloof and maternal neighbor who lived across the hall?

"Are you alright Master?"

"I'm fine," I looked over the rest of pathways and the other buildings, then to the crumbling section of outer wall. I put my hands on my hips, tail swishing, "Let's see what else we can get done before dinner."

Emmy's dust hand saluted, "Yes, master!'

We have months of food stored away, but no to be found!
