Since your laptop is old, incompatible with modern software and has no spyware installed by your father, Eric tells you that he was ordered to get you a new computer. He hasn’t said the part with the spyware, but you are not stupid enough to believe a mob boss honors your privacy. You are in a position where you could really hurt his business. Only an idiot like your brother wouldn’t keep an eye on his allies and family.

The electronic store is impressive. You see all kinds of mobile phones, flat screen TVs that are higher than you, gaming stations, video games, DVDs and a lot more stuff. Most of these things cost more than one of your mother’s monthly salaries. But you assume for a crime lord like your father, nothing in this shop is really expensive.

Eric seems to know something about computers and promises you, that he can get you an even better computer than your brother has. He also suggests a new smart phone and equipment. You are not sure about all this. On the one hand, this is the kind of fancy technical stuff you always dreamed of. On the other hand, you worked hard for your laptop and mobile phone and you don’t want them to get replaced. At least your own smart pone you can still use for phone calls your father shouldn’t know about.

In the end you got a great computer, a large, flat monitor, CD’s, Computer equipment, a new mobile phone and some USB-sticks. The USB-sticks are an advertising present, but the rest costs more than your old apartments rent for half a year. Together with Eric you pay and head to the car. Eric carries the heavy computer and monitor, while you have the bag with the other stuff. You are almost at the elevator to the underground parking space, when suddenly Eric’s mobile phone rings. Carefully you take the monitor so he can answer the call.

“Yes?” Eric asks, “oh, hi James. Sorry, this is a bad moment I’m in the mall with the boss’s daughter.”

Eric listens for a moment and then suddenly gasps in shock so heavy he almost dropped your computer.

“What the fuck has he done?” Eric asks angry, “has he gone mad? This stuff kills him. Well, shit. I’m not free at the moment.”

“What is happening?” you ask worried, “is somebody hurt?”

“Yes, an old buddy,” Eric mumbles, “he works for your father too. Makes ****. But the fucker used damaged protection clothes and breathed in some toxic gas. He needs a transport to a hospital where the doctors ask no questions. But I’m the only guy these idiots know with a car and a driver’s license.”

“Well, then go,” you answer quick, “we can put the stuff in the trunk and I wait here for you.”

“I can’t, I have to stay with you,” Eric answers tense, “If something happens to you I’m dead.”

“And if you don’t help your friend he is dead,” you reply, “I can take care of myself. I always could.”

“Fine,” Eric mumbles finally, “I’m back in two hours. Promise me you stay out of trouble!”

“I promise,” you say, “now hurry!”

Eric quickly answers his buddy James, takes everything you bought and runs to the elevator. You hope he makes it. But you are also surprised to hear he has friends in your father’s criminal empire. Yesterday he told you he is just a guard and stays out of everything illegal. Maybe he knows the guys from before he started to work in the mansion.

Well, you eventually helped to save a live, but now you are alone in a shopping mall with limited money and around two hours to kill. You should look for something to do.
