Who's the First Contestant?

Edition 2: Annabeth Chase, and some other Contestants

"... Annabeth Chase," Clotho said.

"Hold up, I saw her die," I said. "I saw The Pit kill her."

"So you did," Atropos said. "As have I cut her string."

"Follow us," Lachesis ordered stepping out of the pool.

I followed the three scantily clad beauties as they led me inside a building. "Also, what is up with you three looking so different? I've seen Gods change how they look, but not to your extent."

"In the world we are from, we were heavily taxed," Atropos explained. "Constantly at our weakest moment. Too many Threads to manage, too much to play with. Now, we are at the peak of our power, with merely a few Threads to oversee."

"You wonder about how I speak of Athena's daughter, when she is dead," Lachesis said. "There is power in this place, given by the sacrifice of Ananke and Chronos, and honored by Lady Khaos. We have been given dominion over any Threads wound to yours in your eventful life, to pull here as we see fit."

"Their Weave will be reborn to be as it was, moments before their ****," Clotho said.

"And for some, we will Weave a few extra years, to ensure their maturity and ability to be a part of this Island," Lachesis said.

"That... Is remarkably helpful of you," I said. "What are you getting here? What are you getting out of me?"

"Lady Khaos chose as to be your Hosts on this Island," Atropos said. "Should we not fulfill our duties, she will choose for us to be punished."

"So it's fear of ****," I said. "I can get behind that. How will you bring Annabeth back?"

Clotho materialized a pair of knitting hooks. "I will pull her Thread out of you."

"What?" I asked, but before I could do anything, Clotho dug her hook into my chest and pulled out a silver grey Thread. "Why didn't that hurt?"

"It is a metaphysical Hook, Sea Spawn," Lachesis said. "Now, quiet."

I observed quietly as the Sisters went to work, knitting together until there was a wool bundle in the shape of my girlfriend.

Clotho took a deep breath, then she breathed on the forehead of the Weave, and it slowly turned into my girlfriend wearing a sports bra and thong.

Annabeth took a few deep breaths, looking all around her.

"Percy?" She asked, walking up to me and hugging me. "We thought you were dead! Where are we?"

"I... Didn't die," I said. "I kind of wish I did, to be honest. The Pit was angry at me, so he imprisoned me, and had me watch as all of you... Croaked."

"But we're not dead," she said confusedly.

"But you did die," I said. "I... Made a deal with two Primordials, Ananke and Chronos. They were working against the Pit and for Lady Khaos, but I found the last part out later. The Fates haven't told me much, but all I know is that who I love decides the Next generation of Olympians somehow?"

"All your questions will be answered after all Contestants have joined," Clotho asked, taking a deep breath.

It seemed that bringing Annabeth here exhausted her more than she wanted to show.

Clotho glared at me. Could she read my thoughts?

"Your face speaks plainly," Clotho said. "Now, I shall draw the next Thread."

Clotho dug her hook in me, and pulled out an aqua green Thread.

The Sisters began weaving, and when they finished, the figure was familiar, but I couldn't for the life of me connect the figure to someone I knew.

"Behold the Second Contestant, Sally Jackson," Lachesis said, and Clotho breathed into my Mom's forehead.

"What?" I asked. "I thought you said this whole island was about finding out who I'd fall in love with?"

"You are a Greek god, are you not?" Lachesis asked.

"Half," I glared. "And I'm not up for... Whatever it is Greek gods do with their family."

"I suppose that will be the end of Sally Jackson's Thread once again," Atropos shrugged.

I hesitated as I realized that Mom's life and **** was in the balance here.

I looked at her as her Thread finished materializing into her wearing a swimming one-piece.

Mom took a deep breath, then she opened her eyes.

"Percy!" She sobbed, jumping at me and hugging me tightly. "I thought you were gone!"

"I was, Mom," I hugged her back. "It's... Complicated."

Mom gave Annabeth a quick hug. "It's good to see you're fine, Annabeth."

"You too, Miss Jackson," Annabeth said.

"You know it's Aunt Sally, dear," Mom corrected Annabeth teasingly.

"Aunt Sally it is," Annabeth said.

"Demigod," Clotho called me. "It's time for the next Thread."

"Uhh, before you put your hooks in me or whatever, you mind telling me who is next?" I asked.

Clotho sighed. "If you must insist, Amphitrite shall be next."

"Percy, why is that lady talking about your father's wife?" Mom asked apprehensively.

"'That lady,' is Clotho," Clotho glared at Mom. "You'd do well to respect me, mortal."

Before Mom could answer, Clotho dug her hook into me, and the Sisters Wove once again.

Once Clotho breathed into the Weave, Amphitrite materialized, wearing a bikini made of seaweed.

Amphitrite took a deep breath, then she observed her surroundings.

As soon as she saw the Fates, she stood up and bowed to them.

"If I may ask, My Ladies, how am I here, and for what purpose?" Amphitrite asked.

"Await your time with the boy," Atropos snapped.

"Yes, Milady," Amphitrite said softly, sitting near me. "Perseus, do you know what this is?"

"It's... Fucked up," I said. "Our world is gone, and this place is a Hail Mary by Lady Khaos, Ananke, and Chronos, the Primordial not the Titan, to save some of our world."

Amphitrite sat back. "If that is the case, I shall be patient to see where we go from here."

"Those three are the Fates?" Mom asked. "Didn't you tell me they're old?"

"They were," I said. "A god's age usually reflects how much energy they need to use on their domain."

Clotho turned to me. "It is time for the next Thread. Before you ask, it is your old... Frienemy, as the mortals call it. Clarisse LaRue."

I nodded, and Clotho pulled the Thread out of me.

As the Sisters Wove, I contemplated on... Everything. Being here, mostly. What would this place spell for my future?

"Don't worry too much right now, Seaweed Brain," Annabeth said. "We don't know enough to think or do enough."

"I agree with the Owl Spawn," Amphitrite said. "Though, I must say, of all the options, you chose Athena's daughter? Surely you know better as a Son of the Sea?"

"W- First of all, don't talk about Annabeth like that," I said. "Second of all, why does Dad's grudge have to stop my relationship with Annabeth? I'm not my father."

"It's not your father's grudge," Amphitrite said. "I thought you'd know. Nevermind, I shall endeavor to tell you the tale at a later time. Your friend is waking up."

Sure enough, Clarisse was waking up and looking at me.

Knowing her, I'd expect her to do something like punch me, kick me, maybe go for a grapple, so I subtly got ready for a playful fight.

She surprised me by doing the exact opposite.

Clarisse was hugging me tightly. "Where have you been, Prissy?"

"Oh, y'know," I laughed nervously. "Just being a prisoner for the Pit."

"You were the Pit's prisoner!?" All four women asked at the same time.

"It... Wasn't fun," I said. "I'd rather not explain, if that's ok."

Clarisse let me go, and I could tell in all four women's eyes that the conversation wasn't over.

Oddly enough, Amphitrite seemed to be the one most agreeable to dropping the topic.

"If you've the presence to wonder where we are, daughter of Ares," Amphitrite said to Clarisse. "We're in an Island outside of our world, which is under the Pit's dominion. The Fates have yet to explain our purpose."

Clotho once again pointed her hook at me. "The next Thread, Sea Spawn. It shall be the red haired Oracle."

"Rachel's joining us?" I said as the Sisters worked.

"Did they... Remake me the same way?" Clarisse asked as we observed Clotho breathing Rachel.

"All of you," I said. "The only people I don't know about are the Fates themselves, and me."

Rachel took her first breaths as she was Reborn.

"Hey, Percy," Rachel said, somewhat confused. "What am I doing here, I thought you were the only one who wouldn't die?"

"You knew he was alive?" Annabeth asked.

"Of course I did," Rachel shrugged. "Once the Pit got angry, our ends were basically Fated. I saw that Ananke had a plan for Percy, I just didn't know it. So what was the plan anyways?"

"They plan on remaking the pantheon, with me as the God-King," I said.

"Oh, wow," Rachel said. "Good thing Zeus is too dead to have a problem about that."

I laughed. "That's one way to look at it."

Clotho pointed her hook at me. "Your next Thread will be Juno."

"What?" I asked. "First off, why her of all people? Second of all, why her and not Hera?"

"They are one and the same," Lachesis said. "However, your Thread has Weaved with Juno's on a deeper level."

"Ohhh," I said in understanding as Clotho pulled the Thread out of me. "Wait, you didn't answer why you chose her!"

"Don't concern yourself with that," Atropos said as they Wove.

Once Juno had been reborn, she looked at me angrily.

"Where were you, boy!" She exclaimed angrily, grabbing me and **** me. "You were supposed to protect us!"

Clarisse moved forward to protect me, but I raised a hand weakly, telling her to leave it to me.

"So... Much... For... The... Gods... Not... Needing... Us," I choked out, and Juno released me immediately.

I took a deep breath. "If you asked nicely, I'd have told you that I was imprisoned by the Pit himself."

Juno stated quiet but she continued to glare at me.

"Juno, stay calm, please," Amphitrite said.

"Salacia?" Juno asked confusedly. "Why are you here?"

"I think you'll find that your personalities have been turned to one," Amphitrite said. "I've found myself more comfortable with Amphitrite, you will find yourself more comfortable with Juno. As for why I am here, the Moirae will inform all of us after they've Reborn all who are to be Reborn."

Juno noticed the Fates for the first time and shut up.

"This next Thread will be complex," Clotho told me as she dug her hook in me. "Luke Castellan will join the Island. However, he will join in a female version of his body."

The Sisters Rebirthed Luke, and he— she looked at us cautiously.

"Percy? Annabeth?" Luke was confused. "You're... Different? Where are we?"

"You're different too," Annabeth said cautiously. "We're on an Island outside of the world."

"Wow," Luke said as she observed her surroundings. "This is weird. I am weird."

"Your scar's gone," I pointed out. "You still have Kronos' eyes."

Clotho interrupted our conversation. "We are ready for the next Thread, Sadie Kane."

"The Egyptian?" I asked confusedly. "Why do you have any power over her?"

"Ananke, Chronos, and Khaos were the last of the old timeline," Atropos said. "Who could stop them from grabbing any Thread Woven to you?"

"Well, shit," I said in surprise as the Sisters went to work.

Moments later, Sadie was Reborn, and she took stock of all of us.

"Percy, Annabeth," Sadie said brusquely but warmly. "It's nice to know you're both alive."

"You too," I said. "But, I guess, not really, because I know you died, but you're back here, so it's —"

"Just lay it all out, why don't you?" Sadie said sarcastically. "So I did die?"

"Everyone did," Amphitrite said. "Only Perseus, Lady Khaos, and The Pit are the true survivors of the world we remember."

"Riiiiiight," Sadie said slowly. "Who are you?"

"Who I am is inconsequential, Ex-Host of Isis," Amphitrite said. "You would gain more knowledge had you asked who I was?"

"And who... Were you?" Luke asked cautiously.

"The Queen of the Seas, Amphitrite," she introduced herself. "As I mentioned, who I was, and what power I wielded is utterly inconsequential over here. All our powers are gone with the old world."

I flexed my fingers, feeling the truth in Amphitrite's words.

I couldn't feel the water. I couldn't control it. Almost like it was before I saw Grover without pants.

Clotho turned to me. "The last Thread, Zoë Nightshade."

"The one who fell from a father's hand," Atropos said somberly as the Sisters Wove.

I stared as Zoë came to life.

"Zoë?" I said. "Welcome back from the stars."

Zoë took a deep breath. "Thank you, Perseus."

Lachesis clapped her hands, drawing the attention to her. "Well, while Clotho and Atropos recover, I think it is time for me to explain to all of you what is going on, correct? Buckle up, it'll be a bumpy explanation."

What's next?
