Eavesdropping

As much as she would love to stay, Sam has to go home that evening. Her **** is telling, though. It seems that you’re not alone in feeling the connection between you. You can still feel her lips from the good night kiss she gave you before driving away as you head back into your apartment. You smile, despite wishing she could stay.

Heading back inside, you catch a bit of conversation between Emi and Lili, clearly discussing you and Sam.

“They’re so cute-cute together! I bet she’ll join us soon, yes-yes!”

“I think so too, but we shouldn’t push. I don’t want to scare her off. Andy is a good man, he deserves a real woman in his life.”

“Aren’t we real-real?”

You hear a sigh. “Yes, we’re real, but…not human. We can’t give him what he deserves. I love him, and I want him to have everything.”

“I don’t understand you, no-no. What more does he need-need?”

There’s a long pause, and then Emi says something quiet that you don’t catch.

“Oh, he doesn’t think like that, no-no! You know that, Emi, he love-loves you!”

Another sigh. “I know. He loves us both. He has such a big heart. I just want him to have everything. And Sam is so wonderful too. I feel like they belong together.”

“Me too, yes-yes! And us too, yes-yes!”

You hear a laugh. “Of course, Lili. Thanks. Sorry for being a downer. I get like that sometimes.”

“I love-love you too, Emi! Almost as much-much as I love Andy!”

You decide to stop eavesdropping, and walk into the room. You find Lili hugging Emi, and both girls smiling. Neither has put on clothes, and you chuckle a bit.

“Hope I’m not interrupting anything?”

Lili giggles. “Nope-nope! We were just…”

Emi interrupts. “Just some girl talk! Nothing you’d be interested in.”

You raise an eyebrow and laugh. “If you say so. It’s probably bedtime anyway. Big day tomorrow, after all.”

Emi nods. “Right, we have a mission. We’ll need our sleep!”

Lili immediately jumps onto the bed. “Yay, bedtime cuddles, yes-yes?”

You laugh, stripping to your underwear and climbing into bed. “Yes, but no funny business.”

Emi climbs in as well. “I think even Lili is satisfied after this evening.”

Lili giggles. “For now, yes-yes. Maybe in the morning, please-please?”

You roll your eyes. “We’ll see. Get some sleep, goofball.”

Lili simply snuggles up against you, sighing happily. Emi does the same in your other side, and soon both of them are asleep. You kiss each of them, settling in yourself.
