“Congratulations, you’ve been placed in the Squirrels Civilization. Welcome.” One of the four professors reads, representing the Squirrel civilization. The student rep then hands you a pamphlet/guide that will give you access to some of the Squirrels secrets.

On the front of the pamphlet, you see the logo and Civ Name. Before you open it though, you are told to leave the room and walk under the picture of the Squirrel shown on the front of the pamphlet. Upon arriving on the logo, you are shocked by an elevator that quickly transports you very quickly into a blank, wide open space highlighted by a massive door. You take this quiet opportunity alone to open the pamphlet knowing nobody is around you and see a flood of words, glad you didn’t open it and try and read it rushed in front of the large group. Particularly with the words “Top Secret” emblazoned on the front cover.

Welcoming Message:

New Squirrels-

Welcome! Welcome! One and All! To the Best Civ of them All! The Squirrels will win the Copper Cup, our rivals won’t dare try, because we’re a guaranteed Dub! That’s my favorite part right here. Really though, this is your official Welcome letter to the Squirrel Civilization, the Wittiest, Funniest, most Playful Civilization in all the school! Don’t get it twisted though, while we may be known for our Sports teams, we also do have some great thinkers too! Regardless of what you’re good at, if you like to have fun you’ll be a great fit with all of us Squirrels.

We do have some core values that we believe all our students share with us. Those are Preparation, Problem Solving, Persistence, Resilience, Work Ethic. You may not necessarily possess all of them yourself just yet, but on some level you want, need or like each one of those in yourself and your friends. Some of the skills and traits you’ll often find in the Squirrel Civilization are Flexible, Forward-Thinking, Witty, Playful, Fun-Loving, Lighthearted, Forgiving, Generous, Loyal, Friendly and Loving. Oh, and we are definitely fans of sports. Winning on the Football Field, the Baseball and Softball Diamonds, the Basketball Courts, the Hockey Rink, you name it, we’re going to be competitive and look to take the Championships in every sport!

Our Orange and Green colors can be found all around the school everywhere you look, and when points are counted towards the Copper Cup, we’ll be sure to have tons and tons of points! We can be found using our problem solving skills and work ethic to always get great academic success, our playfulness and athleticism to find success in the sports around campus and at the same time, we’re not at all mean either! We’re a very generous group who likes to see each other succeed and are very loyal friends who are great to be with.

The one thing you may have noticed, especially from our intro, is that it can be kinda hard to turn down the energy and shut off and relax. This one of the things we always try and work on, and a big part of helping us do that is our Capital Room. We’ll get to that in a minute though. The other thing we really need to work on is being less nervous and afraid of the other Civilizations! We can do everything they can, and while they may be different than us, and our rivals in the Copper Cup, it’s still important to be friendly and caring for those who respect us and treat us fairly too.

Anyways, as for our Capital Room, it’s super comfortable. The one thing us Squirrels absolutely love is staying warm and cozy and so there’s all kinds of blankets, fluffy chairs to sit on, and of course plenty of space to exercise and work out some of those pesky nerves you may have! It also helps us stay fit and in shape for all the sports events we like to win. Our Emerald Gemstone, our prized possession, is one that glows bright and is the only that can truly matches our energy with it’s shine. Our Capital room is one where we love the silence and peace and calm of nobody else bothering us. We don’t have to deal with annoying birds or fish or any other critters, we offer a distraction free zone. If you want to play your own music, awesome! If you want it perfectly still and quiet with nothing to distract you, great! If you’re someone who thrives on working alone, or you need some time to relax, calm down and focus on something you want or need to get done, this is the perfect home for you and you’ll love the Squirrel Capital Room.

All you need to know to enter is our secret password- “Going Under Takes My Wonder” and you’ll be able to enter just fine. The rest of our security detail? Well, it’s pretty easy see. As the problem solvers of the group, you’ll have to trigger your inner Nicolas Bourbaki and solve a simple math problem. It will look extremely complicated to everyone else. Though the answer to the problem is infinity. Just draw the Infinity symbol on the secret hidden door, the furthest underground part of the main school building and the furthest south point you can go in the school, and you’re good to go to enter our excellent home.

Surely by now you are ready to get started and are super excited about joining the Squirrels! We’re going to bury our rivals in the Copper Cup like Squirrels bury their nuts for the winter and dogs bury their bones. Just remember that while we are going to win the athletic competitions, and surely you’re going to help us with that, we also need to strive to use our brains and reach our highest potential in the classroom too! The Squirrel isn’t just incredible for our excellent sporting abilities, but our incredibly underrated intelligence and learning. With you and all the rest of the Squirrels we have, we will have no problem taking over the entire school and coming out on top as winners, again and again and again!

The first trait that really stands out for the Squirrel Civilization is Resiliency, as the people chosen for this Civ are very good at always landing on their feet, and/or getting right back up when they fall and hit a rough time. Squirrels are also very flexible and open to new things, while also understanding the importance and need to plan and think ahead and always being prepared for anything. Squirrels love to think of what can be done next once they finish a task that they’ve been working towards and are always on the lookout for new challenges, goals, objectives and things to do. Those chosen to be Squirrels are also known to be very quick witted and very fast thinkers, which makes them smart and intelligent and able to quickly problem solve and come up with solutions on the fly to problems they may encounter. Squirrels are also playful and fun loving and enjoy light hearted interactions with others. Also, those chosen to be Squirrels have an understanding that it’s important to enjoy life, not taking things seriously, which includes forgiving and forgetting those who may have harmed them in the past without holding grudges. A few more qualities that those in the Squirrel Civilization are known to possess are Patience, Generous, Loyal as well as a few other shared traits like Friendliness, Loving, Courageous and Protective. Work Ethic and Problem Solving skills are a tough combination to top though and are the defining characteristics of the Squirrel Civilization.

One thing Squirrels must focus on is relaxing. Squirrels need to take some time to focus on not always feeling the need to do something or word towards something in a productive sense, and are at their best when they allow themselves to do things as they come and happen and use their quick wits to help them in the moment without worrying about the future. Squirrels can get nervous and flighty easily and are sometimes a bit afraid of getting into conflict even when in some cases it may be necessary and beneficial to stand up for themselves or others.

In addition to the above takes from the main stream on Squirrels, Squirrels are somewhere in the middle in terms of difficulty to place and track, as they do share some traits with the Cardinal and Dolphin specifically, however they have clear differences from both as well, such as their aptitude for preparation and planning, and their problem solving and quick wit. The Squirrels’ prized possession, the Emerald Gem is one that guides their wit and foresight to aid their two best skills, their problem solving and preparation.

Having read the pamphlet, you approach the door excitedly, nervously anticipating the start of your new journey at Cielisium and where you end up going before the end of your first day!
