Early to arrive

Alexa checked her watch. It was about 30 minutes before the party as she drove to the sorority house. She didn’t see many cars as she parked on the side of the road and approached the house. She took a deep breath and rung the doorbell, waiting for Rachel or someone else to answer.

“Oh wow,” Rachel said as she opened the door. “I didn’t think you would show up, Lex. You look great.”

Alexa smiled. “Thanks,” she said. “I’ve never really been to this kind of thing.”

“Do you want something to drink?” Rachel asked.

“Oh no,” Alexa said. “I shouldn’t.”

“It’s a party,” Rachel said. “Besides, it’s just punch.”

Alexa watched as Rachel handed her a red solo cup. She nibbled her bottom lip. “Oh alright, maybe one drink,” Alexa said.

Rachel smiled as Alexa took the cup from her and slowly sipped on it. After a bit of chatting and drinking, others began to arrive.
