EPISODE 3: Harper meets up with Elena

Harper has a date. Not a real date, obviously. It’s much too soon for that. Harper is feeling a mix of excitement and nerves as she heads to Elena’s apartment. They had planned to meet up for a casual hangout, and Harper is looking forward to catching up with her friend. She approaches the building and presses the intercom button to announce her arrival. It seems like a thousand years pass between the end of the buzz and there being any sound at all from the other side. For the last few days Harper hasn't been able to sit still. Elena had only been in her apartment for an hour and yet it was all she was able to think about. All the texts they had shared since were casual, normal. As if Elena hadn't held her chin in her hand as she kissed her. After years of friendship Harper somehow still didn't understand a thing about the way Elena thought.

"Who is it?" says someone through the intercom. Harper recognizes the voice.

"Hey, Elena! It’s Harper."

Elena’s voice comes back, cheerful and inviting. “Come on up. I’m just getting things ready.”

Harper heads to the elevator, her mind occupied with thoughts of their planned catch-up. As the elevator doors open on Elena’s floor, she makes her way down the hallway, her anticipation building. When she reaches Elena’s door, she knocks and waits for a response.
