Druuna is almost perfect.

Smith gently took Druuna's arm and turning it palm up tapped her forearm sharply to make a vein stand out. As she'd promised the needle's sting was very slight and Druuna watched as the syringe filled with her blood. Druuna was given a small wad of cotton to press on the puncture when the needle was withdrawn. Smith transferred Druuna's blood to the small vial and handed it over to Doctor Klein.

"This machine scans your blood Druuna." The Doctor explained, indicating a large boxy device on a wheeled trolley nearby. "It gives us a breakdown of your DNA which are the building blocks of who you are."

The words meant little to Druuna, though she got the gist that her blood was being tested for some purpose. The Doctor opened a slot in the machine and inserted the test tube. Pressing a button lights started to flash all over the casing and it emitted a high pitched whine. After only a few seconds the sound abated and all except a large green light dimmed. The young doctor flipped up a screen and intensely studied it.

"Astonishing." Klein exclaimed. "It's incredible that a itinerate from the wilderness could produce these results. Look at this Smith."

The blonde woman read the results on the screen and her hand flew to her pretty mouth. She stared at Druuna making the dark haired beauty slightly uncomfortable with the degree of adoration in her expression.

"We've only acheived close to these results with several generations of selective breeding." Klein stated. "Druuna you're as close to human perfection as I've ever seen."

Druuna blushed, though his words were strange she knew she was being complimented.

"Well most people I meet do think I'm pretty." Druuna replied truthfully.

"Pretty?" Klein laughed. "What you are goes far beyond pretty. Your DNA will shorten our work by decades. We will have to think very carefully whose genome is worthy of being coupled with yours."

"I've never met a gnome, I thought they were make believe." Druuna said confused by the praise. "But I'd be happy to couple with him if he's nice."

"Doctor, Druuna's um..libidinous nature could be problematic." Smith suggested to Klein. "It might be best if we took the steps to ensure only planned procreation occurs."

"Yes, quite right." Klein agreed. "That's simple enough, carry on."

Smith fetched a second syringe and readied it for use.

"Just another little jab Druuna." Klein explained. "This will make sure that you only have babies at the right time, but will still be able to umm...have intercourse with men."

Druuna frowned in puzzlement, she'd never needed an injection to have pleasure with men in the past and it seemed strange that she needed one now. Everone seemed to be so nice to her here in the outpost so she supposed they couldn't mean to harm her. She allowed Smith to inject her belly without protest.

"We can watch the progress on the monitor." Smith told Druuna enigmatically.

Smith pointed to the screen which still showed Druuna's skeleton. Where her belly was, in the place she'd been injected two dark blobs were forming. They lengthened out until they resembled worms. Druuna could feel their movement inside her though they felt a little uncomfortable they caused no pain.

"What are they?" Druuna asked.

"A string of nanites." Klein said, "They're preprogrammed to perform certain functions, look you'll see them moving."

The two wormlike blobs on the screen separated, each burrowing deeper into Druuna's groin and taking position one on each side of her lower torso. When they stopped they curled around, the tips melding into the tails to create rings. Once they had formed perfect circles they contracted, the space in the middle shrinking dramatically.

"No problems Doctor." Smith reported reading something on the scanner. "Both fallopian tubes clamped and the nanites are operational whenever we want them opening."
