Chapter 16 by latexdoll latexdoll

What do you want to play?

Druid sounds fun

You look at the dice, “I should probably roll first. What method do you use?”

Steve goes and starts making a sandwich, “4d6 drop lowest, 7 rolls, drop the lowest. Then adjust for race no stats over 18 to start but I give a free ability boost every 4 levels.”

“Oh cool.” You say and start rolling. They come up 14, 13, 16, 12, 10, 12, 15. “Cool, drop the ten. Well if we need a nature guide I could do a Druid of the land, could I be a Kender, from dragon lance? They’re like gnomes but more interesting and better looking.”

Steve looks at the tablet at the stats and abilities, “Sure, seems fine.”

You fill out the sheet, Str 12 Dex 18 Con 12 Int 13 Wis 16 Cha 14. “What do I get for gear?” You ask Steve.

He sits down. “Let’s see. Level 5.”

Vanessa interrupts, “Since she is small you should give her that suit of Drow spidersilk armor we sold in the last town. Oh and the amulet of natural attacks for wild shape. It looks like a black leather choker with a ring for a leash, not that we will leash you, well unless you are naughty.” She gives your arm a squeeze. “And obviously a magic shield, and a scimitar, it could be silver and shiny, and…”

Steve stops her, “Vanessa, let Alex make her own character. Level 5 she can have 3 weak magic items.”

“If I was out traveling, can I have a bag of holding?” You ask.

Vanessa and Steve argue a bit more about what you get till all parties agree you will have the magic spider silk armor and a normal hide shield giving you AC 20 a few daggers, as Bobby points out that you can attack with spells and a scimitar isn’t a finesse weapon, a bag of holding full of mundane traveling gear, and for your wild shape the +1 dog collar, as Vanessa simply insists you will be so sexy in a form fitting black silk bodysuit and a dog collar.

Character basically ready to go Steve mumbles about how to add you in, obviously not expecting you to finish it tonight. Then the doorbell rings. Vanessa grabs it and in walks Marcy, cute green messenger bag styled purse clutched in her hands. She seems rather intimidated by the much larger Vanessa. “It would seem Alex has a friend.”

Marcy looks at her then you, “Hi. I brought the purse for you to look at. I was thinking you might want to go get a bite to eat.”

Vanessa looks her over and asks, “Ever play D&D?”

Marcy gulps, “A little when I was a kid with my brother. Why?”

Vanessa smiles, "Well you just interrupted our game night. Alex just made a character and that gives us a five person party. Everyone knows odd numbers of characters are actually bad luck. Plus six is traditionally seen as the perfect size.”

Steve cuts in, “Vanessa, she doesn’t want to play and besides, a six person party is actually a bit big.

Vanessa smiles, “Critical Role has six characters.”

Steve sighs, “l didn’t say it was to many, just that she doesn’t want to play. Look at her, she is terrified of you.”

Vanessa gestures at herself, “Me? Don’t be silly. I was just trying to be friendly. What do you say? Want to join our game?”

Marcy looks at you, “I guess it could be fun, I mean, I only met Alex today, it’s not like we are actually friends or whatever, but I don’t actually do anything on Friday nights.”

Vanessa smiles walks over, grabs your hand, and brings you to Marcy. “Then it’s settled. You two kids go out to dinner and have fun. Steve isn’t ready to bring you in tonight anyway. If you decide you want to be friends, I can help her make a character before next Friday, if not, she doesn’t need to bother. Sound good?”

Marcy smiles sheepishly, “Do you want to go out to eat with me?”

Say yes, and go.

Ask her to leave.

Go out for dinner?
