Driving home from work

The memories come flooding back in a rush.

There hadn't been anything special about the day. You'd finished work late, a long day but that was the price you paid for climbing the corporate lader.

You'd decided to blow off the gym for tonight and head straight back to your apartment. A glass of wine and a good long soak in the tub was what you needed but destiny had other plans for you. As you drove your coupe across the junction you heard a roar of engines and a blaring horn. You just had time to catch a glimpse of a huge radiator grill baring down on you and then...

And then nothing, darkness, the void, then here.

"Oh shit," you breathe "I was in an accident! Fuck, was it serious? I don't feel any pain, I, I don't feel anything. Is that bad?"

The old man's face looks suddenly serious and you get a sinking feeling as he tells you just how serious it was...
