Drawing a blank

A gentle stream of information enters your mind. It's not quite the torrent that you normally get but it's small enough that it concerns you. You search the memories that the blue pen has granted you and honestly it's not much. Basically all you know is that this person got orders to replace your mother, Marie Anderson and await contact with David. Two other agents had been inserted into people close to yourself being Trish and Jessica. You're glad that you were right about your guesses but you're frustrated by the lack of information. There's nothing in this person's mind about their identity, who they work for, why they look so average. The only information you have now are the parameters of this agent's mission. There isn't even an end time specified. You're assuming that these three agents will stay in place until they are recalled by whoever their employer is. The information you've received only really tells you that to rescue your closest friends/family will mean putting yourself in greater risk. After all, two of them are now inhabited by trained imposters of some kind.

Before you step out of the cubicle, you step into your mother's skin and assume her form with the blue pen giving you all her memories up until the point that the nondescript woman replaced her. It's more than a little disconcerting to wear her form but you promise silently that this will only be temporary, at least until you can relocate her and rescue the ones you care about most. To do that, you need to pretend to be one of the agents, going about their business while awaiting for David to return home.

You go about your mother's daily routine. A catch up with her own high school friends. A stop at the supermarket to buy groceries before returning home to catch her afternoon soap. Your mother truly has a mundane schedule. But it doesn't matter. If you follow it to a tee, no one will suspect that you aren't who you claim to be. And neither will the agency.

A day passes in your mother's life and you realise that no one knows that you have disappeared. In fact, everyone is of the opinion that you've simply been sent off to boarding school; a decision that your family had been discussing for months now and that you'd suddenly changed your mind in going. It's obvious that this shadowy organisation has been modifying memories in your absence. You've suspected this for a while, but this nemesis that you're up against definitely has their fingers in many pies.

Finding some way to expose Trish or Jessica won't be particularly easy as your mother. As Marie Anderson, you simply have no real reason to visit them and going out of your way to find them will expose you as an imposter. It's very fortunate then, that on your second day of watching through excruciatingly boring soaps that Trish comes to visit out of the blue. You act exactly as your mother would and invite her in but from the few memories that you retrieved, you know that this Trish is an imposter. When she turns her back on you, you aim both the white and black pens and fire.
