Shepard’s next stop was the med bay. She was surprised to find a familiar face inside. “Dr Chakwas,” Shepard said. “I didn’t realize you worked for Cerberus now.”
“I don’t,” Karin said. “I work for you. And I made sure they knew that.”
Shepard grinned. “So… you did miss me.”
“More than anything. After you got spaced I worked more on Earth. It’s not the same though. I don’t trust Cerberus, but I won’t turn away their technology. It is some highly sophisticated devices.”
Shepard nodded. “Makes sense. I definitely don’t trust the Illusive Man. But the people seem at least well intentioned,” Shepard said. “I should probably continue my rounds, but is there anything I can get you?”
“A bottle of Serrice Ice Brandy. I used to have one before the ship exploded,” Dr Chakwas said. “I don’t want to get in your way, but if you can get it, I’d much appreciate it.”
Shepard nodded. “I’ll keep my eye out.”
Shepard turned to leave. “Not so fast,” Chakwas said. “You just got out of a two year coma. You’re past due for a physical.”
Shepard paused. “How… invasive do you need to get?” Shepard asked.
“I should do a full physical. Who knows what Cerberus’s technology changed,” Dr Chakwas said.
Shepard nodded. “Alright then…” Shepard approached the exam table. She removed her armor.
Chakwas turned the blinds to the med bay on ensuring no one could see inside. “Forgive me, Commander, but I need access to your full body,” Karin said.
Shepard nodded. She slipped her casual clothes off stripping to her bra and underwear.
“That’s fine for now,” Karin said as she laid Shepard all the way back, pulling her arms to the sides. “Your surgery scars are probably going to last for a while. I’ll let you know when I have something to treat them.”
Karin used the omni device to scan Shepard’s vitals. “Overall, you’re still you. As far as I can tell.”
