31-year-old Dr. Chandra Gupta was an Indian scientist who was already considered to be the smartest man in the world, having already enrolled at The Indian Institute of Science (India's most prestigious university) in Bangalore at only the age of 12!

It's here that Chandra would meet his future wife - Saanvi Singh.

However, even the smartest minds get stuff wrong once in a while; something that Chandra learned the hard way when one day, he mixed the wrong kind of chemicals together and it blew up in his face!

But because this is a comic book universe and he is the main character of this story (and a good person on top of that), the accident didn't kill him or disfigure his face, but rather transformed him PROFESSOR ELEPHANT! A humanoid elephant who has the distinction of being canonically the smartest man in the Vixen multiverse!

WEAKNESSES

Because he's part elephant, one of Dr. Gupta's only major weaknesses is that he occasionally experiences musth. For male elephants, musth is a hormonal change where their testosterone levels skyrocket and they become super aggressive and horny!

For Chandra, experiencing musth essentially means going through a minor Pokemon evolution (imagine Doomsday from 'The Death of Superman' but as a humanoid elephant) and basically becoming the Hulk (a Hulk who wants to smash ;) as well as SMASH!). It's also the time in which he's most vulnerable to all forms of mind manipulation (now go back and read everything I just wrote about him and now imagine this dude being mind-controlled against you! Terrifying right?!)

Don't worry, he's got it mostly under control via various methods, the most notable of them being his wife, Saanvi, as she's not only his Sue Storm but his Betty Ross as well.

While he does occasionally dabble in heroism, Chandra's primary role is being one of Vixen's many premier scientist characters.
