Downstairs

Emma, still in her PJ's, bounded down the stairs. Used to the creaking by now she ignored it and rounded her way into the dining room. It was empty and her family members were nowhere in sight. Not that Emma had really expected to see them anyway.

Making her way to the kitchen, Emma was delighted to see that there was fresh coffee still in the pot. She helped herself to a mug and searched for something light to eat. Settling on some fresh fruit and yogurt, Emma sat down at the small table and enjoyed her breakfast.

She could hear the voice of her aunt coming from the living room. They must be having their lessons.

Done with breakfast, she put her dirty coffee cup in the sink. While rinsing her cup out, she looked out the kitchen window and caught a glimpse of her uncle doing some type of yard work. Emma thought it looked like he was cutting firewood. Judging by the sweat on his shirt, it was fairly warm outside. Or Edward was cutting wood like a mad man.

Forgetting about her uncle for now, Emma made her way back upstairs. Having the whole floor to herself she didn't worry about hogging the bathroom, and headed to have a shower.

She took her time, enjoying the hot water and the relaxing smells of the soap and shampoos her cousin Jenny must have picked out.

Once clean, daring the quick jaunt to her room wrapped only in a towel, Emma went about getting dressed.

As she rummaged about her suitcase for an outfit, she figured that she better plan out what she was going to do before she bothered putting on clothes. No sense putting on jeans if she was going to go down and test out the temperature of the lake.

Emma scrunched up her nose as she thought.
