Downplay the events

"OK, it's not that bad, we need to keep this in perspective," you say.

Sarah pauses, nodding her head.

"Right, right," she says.

"It was just a mistake. We didn't know what we were doing, we didn't try to do anything wrong."

"Yeah, we definitely didn't know."

"And..." you say, testing the waters. "It's not like we're even super related. We're not brother and sister or anything, or mum and son. It's just cousins."

"Um..." Sarah says, taken aback, but quickly nodding. "Yeah, you're right. It used to happen all the time in the past... I guess."

"Exactly," you nod. "It was just a tiny little mistake. And it's not like it wasn't fun during the time, right?"

"I mean... yeah, it was hot. Like, really, really hot. But it can't happen again!"

"Yeah, yeah," you nod. "It can't happen again. But let's just not freak out. Let's just go about our day like nothing happened."

"Right," Sarah says.

Sarah steps forward, hugging you tightly for a moment, before stepping back.

"Thanks for not making a big deal about this. I gotta get to class."

Sarah hurries off down the hallway, leaving you alone. You take a deep breath, before exhaling.

"Jesus, that was interesting. I guess Sarah's not as opposed to this sort of thing as I thought. Maybe... maybe it's worth getting into," you say, before shrugging. "Fuck it, I'll think about this later. Time to get to class."
