Downloading an "UPGRADE"

Penny Polendina was concerned. After witnessing all the destruction and mayhem of the battle of Atlas... She felt... inferior, insufficient.

Despite wielding the power of the Winter Maiden... she needed more... She needed to be more efficient. More powerful.

Yet... how could she? Training, in the traditional sense, did very little to her unfortunately. Despite her soul, despite her aura... she could not improve physically like her good friends on team RWBY...

So modifications were the only thing to do...

So she found herself, sneaking into the labs at Atlas... Looking for something to give her an advantage... And she found it. A red and black chip... It all but called out to her... A quick Diagnostic told her...

It was an 'Overclock' chip. A chip that would remove the system limitations that her processor and body had. It would... quite literally, allow the ginger robot to break her limits!

Why hadn't her father told her of such a thing. Sure, it was still in testing, but Atlas had the best scientists... And everything needs to be tested in the field eventually.

Given the severity... some...instability in exchange for power... Power to protect, surely her father would agree that the risk was worth it.

Pull back her hair, Penny picks up the chip... so light... for something that may save the world.

"Opening access port..."

A small slot, hidden beneath her hair, opens up... And Penny slots the chip in...
