Chapter 6
by vanillathunder
Do they go down to dinner or order in room service?
Down to dinner
"Let's see how the restaurant is." Jules said. "Besides, if we're down there I won't be spending the next few hours wondering where my suitcase is."
"Great!" Marshall exclaimed. "Let's go!"
Jules could tell that Marshall had been hoping to hit the restaurant, based on his reaction. It was nice seeing his friend happy.
Dinner was enjoyable, with both Marshall and Jules taking it upon themselves to take full advantage of the all-inclusivity of the resort, appetizers, entrees, sides, desserts and drinks, they ate like kings! Heading back up to the room, both of them had no desires other than to get into bed and sleep off the meal. Unfortunately, fate had other plans for them.
"What the hell?" Jules exclaimed. "My suitcase isn't here!"
"Are you sure it's not in the closet or something?" Marshall asked.
"They left yours right on the bed, and mine isn't anywhere in the room!" Jules replied.
"Maybe they got separated?" Marshall guessed as he sat down on the bed and started to take off his socks. "I'm sure it'll be here in the morning."
"But I need it now! My pajamas are in there, and we've only got the one bed, I'm not sleeping in my underwear next to you."
"Is that any way for my partner to act?" Marshall joked.
But Jules wasn't laughing, and Marshall quickly stopped laughing.
"Call the front desk and ask, then!" Marshall said.
"Good idea." Jules took a deep breath and dialed the phone on the nightstand. "Hi, front desk? I'm in Room 405 and my bag was supposed to be sent up and it's not here."
After a few moments, Jules turned to Marshall.
"They're sending someone up." Jules said.
"With the suitcase?" Marshall asked.
"I can only hope." Jules replied.
A minute or so later, there was a knock at the door. Jules opened the door, revealing Lexi, the greeter from earlier, who smiled upon seeing Jules.
"Nice to see you again, although I'd hoped it would be under better circumstances." Lexi said.
"Likewise. Basically, I just want my suitcase." Jules said.
"I've initiated a search, but sometimes things get lost in the shuffle. But I can offer you something to make up for it. We've got several boutiques on property, so you can purchase a vacation wardrobe, completely free of charge, so you'll have something to wear while we search." Lexi said.
"That sounds reasonable," Marshall remarked.
"It does... although I don't want to spend my precious vacation time shopping instead of taking in sun or swimming..." Jules said.
"I figured you might, in that case, we have a special service here, a personal shopper. We've got your size and your questionnaire results, so we can pick out the wardrobe and have it delivered in the morning before you head out for the day." Lexi said.
"Wow... you guys really think of everything... Oh and..." Jules started.
"Already got that covered." Lexi held up her hands, which had been holding a bundle for the entire conversation.
In her hands was a set of silk pajamas, a pleasant silvery color, which consisted of a pair of shorts and a short sleeved button down shirt.
"Thank you!" Jules said. "I guess I'll do the personal shopper."
"I'm glad that we can make your stay more pleasant. Enjoy your night, you two." Lexi said as she turned and left the room.
"See? The week is turning up already." Marshall said. "Looks like you were right about coming."
"Damn right I was..." Jules smiled as he put on the surprisingly comfortable pajamas.
After watching some TV, the friends fell asleep, awaking in the morning to a light knocking on their door. Marshall was the first to hear it and crawled out of bed, opening the door.
There was no one out there, but there was a large box sitting outside. Marshall shrugged and picked up the box, carrying it into the room. As he did, Jules stirred and sat up in bed.
"Who was it?" Jules asked.
"Looks like your clothes are here." Marshall said, yawning.
Jules nearly leaped out of bed and rushed over to Marshall, taking the box and putting it down on the bed. As he opened the box, Jules realized that the clothes were...
Are Jules's new clothes undeniably feminine or gender-neutral?
